IMHO this appears to capture more of the essence of Bernie, rather than looking polished and Presidential. I don't think there is necessarily anything wrong with a rumpled collar, and too much shadows, and there is nothing wrong with portraying the subject matter as one of the regular folks, but I just don't think it looks presidential.

I'm not impressed with the lighting used at the Des Moines Register studio, but it's a decent photo.

7. I don't like it. It is too dark and too reddish. Besides, it doesn't really *look* like Bernie.

I prefer the photos that show his personality and that show how impatient he is with the superficial, shallow style over substance crap. Bernie is authentic and doesn't wear focus-group tested masks. That is a large part of his appeal.
