2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumRegarding half truths
A half-truth is the most cowardly of lies.
― Mark Twain
Dean asked O'Malley a question regarding unsanctioned debates Bernie won't participate in them but O'Malley couldn't bring himself to state that Bernie won't take part in unsanctioned debates so he states that Bernie is fine with the limited number of rigged debates.
Bernie has repeatedly called for more debates and stated that the schedule was rigged, he's not fine with it and O'Malley knows this.
O'Malley is lying or at best speaking a half-truth if you want to believe that a half-truth is "at best," apparently Mark Twain didn't.
I never had any strong feelings one way or the other regarding O'Malley up until this point but he just diminished himself in my eyes.

Now I don't care if I was half wrong, or all wrong. Doesn't matter now...
Uncle Joe
(58,398 posts)if they were to hold unsanctioned debates?
Suspend or eliminate them from their own voter information again?
It's not beyond the realm of possibility.

(16,916 posts)OF COURSE she would boot them from future debates! You don't force candidates to sign an exclusivity agreement just because you like the sound of the word.

(2,125 posts)I know if the show was on the other foot, Bernie would not be putting O'Malley in this position. It makes no sense.

elleng
(131,067 posts)and O'Malley answered THAT question.
He went on to discuss policies and plans, as he'd discussed prior to 'the question,' but as people don't want to hear about his policies and plans, they WON'T.

(2,125 posts)I get physically ill. After admitting to be the architect of the 6 debates, Dean expresses feigned confusion as to why the candidates didn't just organize a slew more. And O'Malley plays right along, pretending there is no exclusivity agreement that would cripple Bernie but not harm him at all.
Uncle Joe
(58,398 posts)I haven't paid too much attention to the corporate media's coverage of that, but I imagine the vast majority of it didn't enlighten anyone as to the truth.
Peace to you.

(2,125 posts)I don't know why I keep going back and watching that clip, there's something just shocking to the mind about watching two formerly good men sell out the only remaining progressive in this pitiful presidential race.
Peace right back atcha!
