Bernie Sanders counters Andrea Mitchell's shallow interview by directing the narrative

I really enjoyed how Bernie Sanders handled the rather shallow and amateurish interview given to him by Andrea Mitchell. He ridiculed her on the gossipy Trump/Bill Clinton sexism reference. He belittled her concentration on petty issues by changing the question to address substantive middle-class centric issues. He challenged her misleading interpretation of a CNN poll. He ensured that she did not ignore his middle-class centric message in lieu of ISIS and warmongering.

Following is the transcript of the relevant clips of the interview.

from foreign policy questions, especially after cheering the destruction of Libya, wanting to continue the destruction of Syria, looking to pick a fight against Iran at the behest of Netanyahu, and in general, advancing the same destructive foreign policy agenda that the Bush regime brought into the White House.

Sure, Hillary has considerable foreign policy experience, but those policies are just plain WRONG!! Why her supporters can't get over their dreams of having the first female American president long enough to look at what she actually supports is beyond me...

...where he said we would be providing support (not sure if he specifically mentioned air support this time but he has before). He says that the effort on the ground should be led by Muslim troops. I fail to see how that approach can be controversial. In fact the Iraqi army just won an important victory over Isis. I'm glad they did, and I'm glad it was the Iraqi Army, not the U.S. Army who did that.

Nothing he said can fairly be construed as "make the local governments deal with it" -- unless by "local governments", you mean "national governments", in which case yes, he does want governments in that region of the world to shoulder more of the responsibility for defeating Isis. Especially the very, very rich governments like Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Isis threatens them too, even if it is a Frankenstein's Monster of their own creation.

are not in the areas where terrorism occurs. Those with little spending money are at home or work. 9/11 was done by people from Saudi Arabia, alli of the US. War profiteers wanted to privatize Iraqi Oil even thought Iraq had nothing to do with terrorism of 9/11. Profiteers received taxpayer money through the Industrial Congressional Complex when they voted for War. Most people believe that Congress continues to do a poor job when voting for more War instead of fixing the problems in their own back yards. Will Americans vote to continue Imperialism or taking care of one another and our selves here at home. We will see.

I want to look further to see if the Greenspan's have stock in warring machinery.

Thanks. I read the transcript.

I don't really care what Trump says. I can't imagine he even getting the nomination. He reminds me of a "shock jock".

I agree with Bernie. Enough with what The Donald said about Hillary or Bill Clinton, or what Hillary said about Trump. Let's focus first and foremost on issues that affect our daily lives.

One day Trump will have his own Reality TV Show about politics. It will probably resemble the format of Jerry Springer. And he'll make lots of money.

Why on earth would a interviewer ask Bernie to comment on Hillary the Donald? Which journalism school did she attend?

At least Bernie didn't let her get away with it. He rose from obscurity to a neck-and-neck tie with the front-runner because he's got a platform that resonates with the Democratic base, but she expects him to gossip about the two corporate whores.

on the cable news channels. As for the Republicans, they are never ask to tell the voters their agenda or mission if they win in 2016. All the Republicans do is blast and trash each other. The American public has no idea how Republicans will run the office of the President.

He went up 8 and Hillary went down 4 he stated on the show. That means his campaign is moving in the right direction, and she only focused on her being ahead. SHE CAME DOWN IN THAT POLL AND HE WENT UP. He pointed that out. I thought that was the best part.
