Merry Christmas GDP!

Not religious myself, but I'm a "cultural Christian" in the sense that I anxiously awaited Santa when I was a kid, and my family has a big get-together every year, which I just got back from.

Anyway, regardless of culture or creed (or primary candidate preference), all the best to everyone on GDP, particularly those I've jousted with in the past. And no doubt will again in the future. DU and GDP are great!

We don't celebrate outside of gift-giving, I LOVE gift giving, but I did decide to cook this year. I'm so stuffed, from game hen to apple crumble...

I made lobster risotto and braised short ribs. Killed it, if I do say so myself . And then I chickened out and bought dessert.

I'm a non-practicing Christian who knows that Christmas has nothing to do with our Christ...but that it's a great holiday to decorate with lit trees and garland, and to spend with loved ones around the table (which we rarely do these days) and for giving small gifts.

Made fried potato slices, peas and carrots with Dutch apple sauce, turkey, yams and marshmallow casserole, and croissants. Not a huge and festive meal but festive enough.
