brooklynite
(94,601 posts)Guess I can't win.
Hekate
(90,714 posts)....if held out in greeting, just on the supposition that all 1%ers are the enemy. Not that you are either of those gentleman, but even so, the RW politics of division and utter, utter resentment have spilled over into the Democratic Party.
Starting from Kucinich's campaign I have seen one DUer after another describe the perfect Democratic candidate as one who has no personal money, earns no substantial salary, has no good investments, flies coach no matter what -- I'm always reminded of barefoot saints garbed in sackcloth and ashes, so pure are they.
God forbid we have any Democrats, much less Democratic candidates, who have learned how to work the system, who have by luck and hard work gotten far ahead of others and done well, and STILL are Democrats who want to help others through improved government... No, no, let's be like crabs in a bucket, pulling back anyone who seems about to climb out. What could possibly go wrong?
But I digress.
SMC22307
(8,090 posts)Poor you, not winning and all.

(11,546 posts)and all 16 of the adults there do not like Hillary at all. So I guess we all have our anecdotes, right??
PotatoChip
(3,186 posts)I kid you not.
(I suspect some other family members are too, but just not saying so). The 2 that admitted it were very smug in their belief that Trump will win the presidency, too.
Anyway, this is one of the many reasons that I want Bernie to be our nominee. Polling is showing him not only beating Trump, but crushing him, yet these 2 know nothing about any of that. In fact, they barely know Bernie, thanks to the MSM blackout.
But I love the idea of Bernie coming out of nowhere and annihilating that disgusting fascist.

(94,601 posts)...but the Dinner with Russ Feingold was very nice. That's where I got his perspective on Bernie.

(5,815 posts)Teamsters, mainly. The looks on their faces when you mention Hillary is amusing. Like playing the jelly bean game and getting dog food.
(But seriously. Never let a six year old niece entice you into the jelly bean game. It's horrifying).

(1,656 posts)Have to wonder brooklynite, are you supporting Clinton because you don't want your taxes to increase?
brooklynite
(94,601 posts)...andvlater voted to repeal them?
I'm counting on her to raise my taxes. More importantly, I'm counting on hercto get elected to do it.

(1,835 posts)And his wife is a partner in a law firm.
He can afford the tax increase.

(20,709 posts)Not that they dislike Bernie. Just that they all feel he can't win, and is basically a non-factor when it comes down to it. And I agree.

LWolf
(46,179 posts)and we had a great time. None of us brought politics to the family table. We've talked, of course, but not today. My family mostly supports Sanders, with one supporter of HRC and one undecided.
Today, though, we spent the day hanging out, eating, playing games, watching movies, and talking to those who weren't with us on conference calls.
