The Boycott Against Obama's Bear-Hugging Buddy Is Failing Miserably

The would be Yelp war between Obama lovers and detractors on Yelp seems to have turned into more of a massacre. For every one-star review bashing Big Apple Pizza on Yelp, there were about 60 five-star reviews singing its praises. (We counted.) In reality, the ratio is a little bit different since about 130 reviews were taken down -- most of them one-star reviews -- for violating Yelp's terms of service. It's still a pretty stark split, though, you have to admit. Not only does Van Nuzer's pizza place have the best rating in Fort Pierce. He's got the highest rated restaurant in the entire state of Florida.

It is great to support this fine American against the reactionary militant tea baggers.

However, it kind of misses the point of YELP doesn't it. How the hell are we supposed to if the Pizza is any good when the actual reviews are overwhelmed with a show of support from people who have never even eaten there.

Having said that, his restaurant is just off the highway on one of our regular travel stops. Next time through, I am going to show him some love with an actual dine in experience.

Who's to say people aren't rating the restaurant on other things besides the food....After all, good bear hug is worth something.
