The difference between Hillary's "Abuela Thing" and Sanders' "Data Thing"...
The difference is that Bernie Sanders is viewed as honest and a truth-teller. The attempted "scandal" will not play for that reason PLUS the fact that people really don't see looking at a spreadsheet accessible online as stealing. Yes, my opinion but I am very confident that this is how the majority of people will see it. It will not play and has not.
As for the "Abuela" thing.... Well, it already fits the narrative of what people believe about Hillary. Namely that she is a politically calculating Chameleon that will do whatever it takes to win. Furthermore, it has the doubly damaging effect of underscoring and enhancing her appearance as an elitist who "doesn't get it".
Just my opinion.
