An audit should be conducted from day one of the campaigns. It should not be restricted to this incident only. During Saturday's debate, Hillary sidestepped responding to Bernie's proposal of a full audit.

It's really hard to get it back in the tube. I'm not going to speculate on this case, but if I email something to a list of people, it'll be very hard for me to make sure that everyone has deleted all their copies of it if ever I would need that to be done.

The best the Sanders campaign can do now is to instruct everyone to delete anything they might have, and to not use anything they come across. I do believe that's what Sanders himself would want.

Maybe someone sent it as an attachment to their entire contact list. I can imagine that happening. And then everyone forwards it to their entire contact list. Data are like flies. They multiply fast if there's any crap lying around.
