2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSwitzerland, no more. I am feeling the Bern.
I have really tried to be neutral. Actually, that's a lie. I didn't have to try. I really WAS undecided on who I am voting for in the primaries and was just going to go with it and vote for whoever comes out on top. I admit, I am not too politically involved anymore and that just seems like the best thing to do.
But I am realllllly liking Bernie Sanders. I feel like he is a stand up politician--and that is saying quite a lot. I really didn't think there was such a thing. He will be great in everything that I care about. Don't get me wrong. I really like Hillary. I have been an ardent supporter of hers for a long time and I want to see a female president. I think there is a deep hatred for Hillary by those in power that is unwarranted. She is a really smart lady and I have always thought, and still think, that it intimidates a lot of the boys wielding power out there. They ruthlessly go after her and it has made me support her even more. But, today, it is not about the powers that be. It is about Bernie Sanders and my gut just tells me he is a better candidate.
But either way, I will be voting for one of them in the general election. The idea of anyone on the right terrifies me to no end. Hillary is right. This is a watershed election year and the GOP has lost their minds. I have never seen more whackadoodles on a national platform as i have this year. I am not only grateful that we have sane people running, but I am feeling the Bern. I see now why and how he has managed to get 2 million donors. Soon, it will be 2 million + 1.
