I'm attending my first Sanders event tonight.

It is a debate viewing event. I'm excited to meet more Bernie supporters and to be able to discuss the debates. I'm also looking forward to having more than myself booing Hillary. It should be fun.

So far I have 16 people who have signed up so I figure I'd put half of them in the living room and the other half in the family room. I just finished making snickerdoodle cookies, I have some fresh fruit cut up and my husband has readied his bean-dip-to-die-for, a.K.a., his "redneck caviar." It's raining like crazy here so I've got hot coffee, hot chocolate and hot tea along with espresso if anyone wants it.

The fun part of all this? We're in the midst of remodeling the living room so the walls are painted but they now in no way match the living room furniture which is about to be reupholstered. What the hell. I always tell people, "Martha Stewart doesn't live here."

But, we've hosted several phone banking events here and everyone always has a good time. I'm sure you will at your event as well.

In my house Martha not only doesn't live here, she's not even in my zip code.

Have fun
