Hillary's data and the DNC needs to apologize to Saint Bernie for not letting him do it. Gotcha. I think I'm getting a handle on the logic and reasoning now.

(70,245 posts)the Clinton camp--what would you want DWS to do? --and would want to make sure that the pouched data was deleted?
The logs tell the story of who got what information. If the Clinton camp had tapped into the Sanders camp information and searched it for specific information--you can bet the farm, they would have let the media know by now. Instead what we have in the logs showing the the Sanders staff tapped into the Clinton proprietary data and did specific searches for specific information

...............According to data reviewed by TIME, the Sanders campaign appears to have obtained files with lists of voters that the Clinton campaign had cultivated in 10 early states including Iowa and New Hampshire.
Beyond simply reviewing the data, the logs show the Sanders staffers took deliberate steps to harvest and store the information. According to the logs, the Sanders staff created from scratch no fewer than 24 listsconsisting entirely of data pulled down from the Clinton campaigns databaseand saved them to their personal folders.
The logs show the Sanders campaign accessed the Clinton data for nearly one hour beginning around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday. The Sanders staffers were apparently able to view unique voter information along with accompanying information about how likely the voters were to vote for the various candidates, crucial information that the Clinton campaign has likely spent millions of dollars to collect.
The Clinton campaign called for a clear accounting of the breach.
We were informed that our proprietary data was breached by Sanders campaign staff in 25 searches by four different accounts and that this data was saved into the Sanders campaign account, said spokesman Brian Fallon. We are asking that the Sanders campaign and the DNC work expeditiously to ensure that our data is not in the Sanders campaigns account and that the Sanders campaign only have access to their own data.
Moreover, the Sanders staffers who carried out the breach included a top lieutenant for the Vermont senator: Josh Uretsky, the national data director for the campaign.
The Sanders campaign denied that it had downloaded any data, saying that it did not retain information from the Clinton campaign.
They didnt download itthey went in looked around, said Sanders spokesman Michael Briggs, who announced Thursday the campaign was firing Utersky and that they were treating the matter seriously.
Uretsky also told MSNBC that the campaign did not export any records or voter file data and was simply trying to document and understand the scope of the problem..................

(42,862 posts)It appears that admitting flaws and making efforts to mitigate and correct the damage isn't an option... so what's left for them to do besides thrash about with an absurd collection of justifications, excuses, and victim-blaming.
I can't decide if it's more frustrating, or more amusing. (I suppose it can be both.) But, no matter how you slice it, none of it is helping Bernie or his campaign.
Not "concerned" ... just observing.

It is too bad that Bernie had to learn about the problem from DWS because his own campaign manager withheld it from him.

(19,460 posts)I keep thinking about how M'OM would have handled this had it been his campaign involved in data theft. I think he would have sent everything the DNC asked for, personally called Hillary to apologize, possible fired a couple of people and handled it with grace and dignity. I bet his access wouldn't have been on hold for 30 minutes.

(6,960 posts)Debbie Wassermann Schultz is incompetent and bias -- that is the issue surrounding her.
The DNC was told of the problems with the vendor months ago and DWS did nothing.
As a result of this incident, Sanders fired the errant staffer and again talked to DWS about this firewall problem.
But she overreacted because she is bias. Her statements yesterday were not diplomatic, not in the greater interests of the party, and demonstrated her bias.
My goodness, she was a Clinton campaign co-chair in 2008 -- she should have resigned as DNC chair once Hillary entered the nomination race -- the conflict of interest is obvious.
And, she was DNC chair for the 2014 election debacle for Democrats ... why Pres. Obama didn't fire her after that is s great mystery to just about everyone.
DWS needs to resign. Period.

(4,822 posts)posting about DWS being associated with the Democratic Party. So Now I have to digest the fact that someone who has been an elected politician his entire (long) professional life, and who just became a Democrat like yesterday, bitching about lifelong Democrats associations with each other and him wanting to dictate who can associate with whom. OMG. I can not handle that.

(6,960 posts)... which was about DWS and her relationship to this 'scandal'.
Your 'logical' failure maybe in not fully appreciating how a bias DNC chair and a bias DNC and a bias party establishment are going to engender distrust and suspicion and inevitably lead to controversies like this.
