Politico: "Sanders takes Clinton data then sues the DNC"

Sanders takes Clinton data, then sues the DNC

By Henry C. Jackson
12/18/15 06:14 PM EST

BERN NOTICE: POLITICO’s Gabriel Debenedetti and Annie Karni report: BERNIE SANDERS’ campaign on Friday sued the Democratic National Committee for suspending its access to the national voter database, saying the move threatens to undermine the Vermont senator's presidential run.

Even as the campaign admitted its staffers had inappropriately reviewed and saved Hillary Clinton campaign data made available as a result of a software error, it emphatically accused the DNC of sabotage and of blatantly favoring Clinton.

“The leadership of the Democratic National Committee is now actively attempting to undermine our campaign. This is unacceptable,” Sanders’ campaign manager Jeff Weaver said on the eve of the third Democratic debate.

“Individual leaders of the DNC can support Hillary Clinton in any way they want, but they are not going to sabotage our campaign — one of the strongest grassroots campaigns in modern history.”

The founder of vendor NGP VAN is Nathaniel Pearlman, who was chief technology officer for Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign. Pearlman supervised Bryan Pagliano as the 2008 Clinton campaign IT director

Pagliano went on to set up and manage Clinton’s private email server.

Not only does it look bad for the DNC to be using this firm, but it really exposes the shady affiliations that Clinton still insists on cultivating.

I didn't think it was possible for this web site to get even more separated from reality. And then I saw the "well, Bernie's campaign reported the security flaws in October so what's the fucking problem??!" posts.

Don't you wish black folks could get the benefit of the doubt like this?? "Officer, I told Ray Ray at the 7-11 that the security camera there was broken. So why ya'll coming after me just cause I went in KNOWING that camera was broke and stole a garden hose, 40 boxes of Ho Ho's and some Wet Wipes?? Hillary's numbers have actually grown stronger in the last few weeks. This "Dems in chaos" crap is exactly the angle they've been looking for and I'm willing to bet they will milk it for as long as they can.

These folks spent months on a missing plane. Day in, day out. People have already been fired over this and I'm sure that more will come. I don't think that this is a small story.

Expect Sanders and Clinton to not be nasty to one another at the debate, etc.

The DNC has 21 days to respond, then you have several months for discovery, then the DNC has a good shot to get it dismissed over the "necessary measures" clause. It seems to me to be a small thing in the end, unrelated to the Clinton/Sanders campaign (though some Sanders "supporters" are pulling their hair out over it).

But I think that Weaver has stepped in it and whoever is doing the advising has fallen for their own bubble. The supporters don't want the lawsuit dropped and if they drop it it will come off as a "loss" or as "weak" or whatever. It's all about imaging. So I give it only 50/50 odds they drop the lawsuit.

If the lawsuit is dropped it will be after a day or two cool down from the drama that way supporters don't feel let down.
