So why exactly does the DNC host separate lists of voter info for different candidates?

Why don't they just have a shared list for all candidates? If they are running as Dems, shouldn't the DNC be neutral? Why would campaigns keep their data with the DNC anyway?

1. All the candidates can share the common data, but each candidate has algorithms that

they develop themselves that they do not want the other candidates to have or have the results from.

7. I think so it could be run against the database on the server. Just quicker that way.

who attend his gatherings have not appeared in that database before.

2. It is the same list. But there are files for each campaign to store their own data with pointers

that go back to individual records in the main list.

IF the data company was competent they would have each campaigns database hashed with a salt so no one else could see the data, leaving the original file available to all.

Clearly Hillary's 2008 tech guy is incompetent, and the DNC gave him the contract anyhow. It is NOT rocket science. In fact, it is pretty simple.

11. They are using the same main database, it would not be anissue if Hillarys former tech guy was good

If he was 'good' , hell, even basically competent, the main database which is shared between the campaigns and the tqbles that are campaign specific would reqre separate log ins.

It is easy to set up levelas of access, and to hash & salt a table (encrypt it so only those who shoud have access actually Do)

The fact that this is NOT what happened, with a former Hillary 2008 tech guy in charge & DWS in the DNC, makes it clear to me that they were trying to shoot down bernie, especailly considering they CHOSE to release this the very same day that Bwrnie got CWA, DFA, and over. 2 Million individual contributions

3. I would guess they keep their data with the DNC because they want to leverage existing and paid for

tech for their campaigns. To reinvent the wheel with each campaign would be something crazy. Also, the DNC likely claims ownership of data on their servers which helps to swell the DNC membership counts. It could be a win/win if the DNC were actually a neutral party, but they have a specific prefered candidate so it's not.

4. They don't. They have one list and then candidates pay the DNC for access to the list

Each candidate is able to enhance their own lists with info and use it to make educated guesses in regards to who they think a voter will support, whether or not a voter donated, been canvassed, promised to vote for said candidate, etc..

Candidates are not supposed to be able to access each other's enhanced voter lists and the Sander's campaign notified the DNC this past OCT that there was a flaw in which candidates were able to access each others dats. The DNC did nothing to ensure the security of each candidates and one party accessed the other's data. So now it's all Senator Sanders fault because the vendor and the DNC screwed up and left the database open for anyone to access.

9. List for each candidate make perfect sense.

And it makes perfect sense to then combine those for the GE.

Each candidate should have to do the leg work, and knock on the doors.
