definition of socialism: admitting the government does some things better than the private sector

I realize that's setting a pretty low bar, but no Republican would directly admit that, and corporate Democrats would dance around it and try not to say it directly.

I am very familiar with the "welfare queen" argument and it seem to be coming hot and heavy from the "left."

Please not I am not saying it is the op at this link, but please look at the damn arguments. If one part of a program is bad then the whole damn thing is bad. Great timing on your op because I really feel the replies to this thread speak directly to your concerns. The difference is in who you lay "better" at the feet of.

should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

Definition of Social democracy: supports economic and social interventions to promote social justice within the framework of a capitalist economy

You wouldn't need to coming up with creative workarounds if Bernie didn't self-identify as a Socialist.
