Clinton Tops List of Arms Company Donations

U.S. presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was also a favorite of the arms producing giants during her 2006 senate campaign.
Hillary Clinton has received more money from arms and military service companies than any other candidate during the 2016 presidential campaign, data from Open Secrets shows.

All but one of the world’s 10 biggest arms producers have contributed to Clinton’s previous campaigns, giving her — along with the top Republican receiver Ted Cruz — a significant margin over the other candidates.

The numbers, collected by the Federal Election Commission and compiled by Open Secrets, also reveal that Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders make the list of top 20 senators and top six presidential candidates to receive money from arms and defense companies.

Most of the funding is channeled through Political Action Committees, which have no limits to how much they donate. About 18 percent comes from individual contributions, totaling almost US$10 million between all of the companies.

Of course, that ignores donations to the Clinton Foundation ...

The cash donations Hillary simply has no answer for
http://www.salon.com/2015/05/31/the_cash_donations_hillary_simply_has_no_answer_for_partner/

The Clinton-led State Department also authorized $151 billion of separate Pentagon-brokered deals for 16 of the countries that gave to the Clinton Foundation. That was a 143 percent increase in completed sales to those nations over the same time frame during the Bush administration. The 143 percent increase in U.S. arms sales to Clinton Foundation donors compares to an 80 percent increase in such sales to all countries over the same time period.

American military contractors and their affiliates that donated to the Clinton Foundation — and in some cases, helped finance speaking fees to Bill Clinton — also got in on the action. Those firms and their subsidiaries were listed as contractors in $163 billion worth of arms deals authorized by the Clinton State Department.

Sorry. The diversion you raise has been worn out by time and trod over by the facts. Better update that argument.

No shit the most likely candidate in a small field would be getting more than four or five separate candidates would in a larger field.

Dishonest horseshit, but par for the course.

Is that she's getting more contributions from the arms industry than Sanders when people on this board have repeated demagogued him for being some kind of "gun nut".

But for Democrats, we prefer the really big ones...the global warfare type. The ones that make lots and lots of money for our MIC. The kind you can't buy at the local gun shop.

Strange, Obama just gave them another contract overseas. WTF for?????

Now I really want to know if Hillary got a donation from them.

Her insurance benefactors will make sure we don't get healthcare. Her wall street benefactors will make sure they can crash the economy again.

I don't understand why anyone would think having her in the white house would be a good idea

Having been at DU only the last several months the feeling I get about her most ardent supporters here is there are probably ten$ of thou$and$ of reason$ they want to see her in the White House. Perhaps hundred$... A$$uming $he wins of course.

Otherwise I've never known people who claim to be democrats so determined to use separation, elitism, mockery of others, and so forth in the supposed name of caring about or doing good for the majority of the people.

These are the same old republican/corporate methods that results in the division and in the problems we as a people and as a country face today.

My guess is many of the "volunteers" will soon be quite well overcompensated by the taxpayers or the foundation for helping further expand the chasm that Bernie wants to get to work fixing.

Unfortunately for us peons, the fix is already in. If not then I really do have to wonder why Hillary is so happy with all the serious problems she's supposedly concerned about.

We suffer... she smiles.

It really is quite telling.
