"I want to say this in all frankness. I didn't come here to knock any of the candidates, but Sen. Sanders has not reached out to the Hispanic caucus in Congress, has not reached out to me. I've never met the gentleman. {He} has not visited Texas or the Rio Grande Valley," Castro, a San Antonio Democrat, said during a stop at a Mexican restaurant in Des Moines. "That's a bit of a concern.
"

Of course he did clear that "falsehood" up later, at a different event somewhere else.

Castro clarified Monday he was specifically referring to Sanders visiting predominantly Hispanic communities in Texas. In July, Sanders held rallies in Dallas and Houston that drew thousands of supporters.

There were several OP about that... here on DU, such as this one

at another event, that's made clear in the article. The polite and politically astute thing for Castro to do would have been not to lie and say Bernie had not been there. Hispanics protested Castro for saying what he said about Bernie. But I'm not going to rehash this. Have a nice day.

She was born a Canadian citizen to Canadian parents. Ted Cruz was born in Canada with at least one US Citizen parent. He received his US citizenship at birth.

Naturalized citizens are ineligible for the presidency.
