2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumBernie Sanders will win Democracy For America endorsement.
From Reddit user liquidlanguage:
"Out of 2133 Twitter posts that explicitly state who they are voting for, Bernie Sanders is at 89.78%, Hillary Clinton 8.95%, Martin O'Malley 1.27%. This is a larger sample size than post presidential polls. The margin of error being ±3% based on an estimated 1,000,000 DFA Member base."
DFA has said 200000 votes have been cast, so that's a huge sample size. I think its safe to call this one for Bernie.

(11,197 posts)It's an unscientific poll! Maybe just ONE Bernie voter voted 200,000 times in the poll, and only the Hillary number is accurate because they would never do such a thing. Either that, or maybe the poll is something for camp Hillary to worry about. A quandary.

(28,270 posts)Can they deliver Iowa to Bernie in 47 days?
bobbobbins01
(1,681 posts)Although Bernie would more than likely have taken Iowa anyway, this will definitely keep the momentum up going into the first primary.

(1,681 posts)I'd be interested to see if you get similar results. I think they're actually skewing even more towards Bernie as we get closer to the deadline.

(3,146 posts)Haven't you noticed? Don't post any good news about Bernie because they'll be the first to respond to your thread every time to tell you how foolish you are for thinking anything you write is worthwhile or meaningful...and of course followed by a Every single fucking time

(3,146 posts)I was secretly hoping the site would be down longer so I wouldn't feel that sense of frustration I get from the HRC camp here on this site. Hey, all we can do is everything we can to get Bernie to win Iowa and New Hampshire. Once that happens, we'll have to change the ROFL guy to a STFU guy
CoffeeCat
(24,411 posts)...as long as you are doing whatever you are able to elect Bernie.
And if it is frustrating you, it is a good idea to take a break.
Or take a look at the Greatest Page and see the Bernie love. I don't think a pro-Hillary post has made it to the Greatest Page.

(30,481 posts)Tweets and votes. It's simply not possible. I didn't tweet my vote. Don't have a Twitter account. Love some things people foolishly say on redit.
bobbobbins01
(1,681 posts)Those are tweets of voters. You not tweeting means nothing. The votes of people who did tweet are still valid.

(30,481 posts)Not for meaningful statistical analysis. What percentage of Clinton supporters and Sanders supporters have Twitter accounts? I would like to know how these numbers are being weighted. Thanks.

(507 posts)DFA has been keeping track of who votes and even if you vote multiple times, only the last vote counts. I've gotten emails from all the DNC candidates through DFA these past couple of weeks so they have been great about offering equal exposure for all the candidates.
I cannot wait to see if I get an emailed link to see the final results over the next few days.

Just for fun I spent a few minutes and voted for Hillary Clinton 10 (ten) times. No IP check. All the emails were confirmed. I wish Sanders supporters would realize how easily anything on the internetz can be gamed.
Oh, and I'd be hesitant to give this group any money. They are currently running behind on their financials. They need money to get back on track. Buyer beware.

(1,771 posts)Actually, I have more than 10 email accounts. Some are specific and others are catchalls. I had to spend a little time this morn' opting out of receiving emails on Bernie Sanders (the "winner" on all 10 emails.
I assume if I receive an email (times 10) that confirms my vote and I receive another 10 emails notifying me of the "winner" that all 10 votes were counted.

(1,771 posts)How does that quote go? Never explain - your friends do not need it and your enemies will not believe you anyway.
Not that I consider you an enemy. Fuck, I don't even know you.
Our environment and beliefs can have a profound effect on how we process information. I am being quite honest. What you believe really doesn't matter to me.
