Actress and author Lena Dunham will campaign for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on Jan. 9 in Des Moines and Iowa City.

"Lena has spent a lot of time with Hillary, and I bet she’s got some great stories to share," Michelle Kleppe, the Iowa organizing director for Hillary for America, said in a news release.

Dunham appeared in Iowa City last year while touring for her book, Not That Kind of Girl. Dunham also set a major story line for her Girls character Hannah Horvath in Iowa when the mid-20s New Yorker enrolled at the Iowa Writers' Workshop in the beginning of Season 4. (Horvath did not last long in the Hawkeye State.)

Dunham isn't the first celebrity to campaign in Iowa. Last week, actor Tony Goldwyn, who plays President Fitzgerald Grant on Scandal, campaigned for the former secretary of State, and singer Katy Perry appeared at a Clinton rally just before the Jefferson-Jackson dinner in October. In November, author and activist Cornel West stumped for fellow Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders.
