Sanders Campaign Decries ‘Bernie Blackout’ on Corporate Network News

Sanders Campaign Decries ‘Bernie Blackout’ on Corporate Network News

Bernie Sanders’ campaign slammed major news networks for what it referred to as a “Bernie blackout” on Friday.

Citing a recent Tyndall Report, which tracks various nightly news programs on networks such as ABC, CBS and NBC, the Sanders campaign accused flagship news networks for vastly ignoring the Vermont senator’s Democratic presidential bid.

As reported by Media Matters, the Tyndall Report findings said that ABC’s “World News Tonight” has given a total of 81 minutes to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s campaign versus less than one minute to Sanders’ campaign. The report states that Trump has received approximately 234 minutes on nightly news, and Democratic presidential frontrunner [sic] Hillary Clinton has received 113 minutes. In comparison, Sanders has only received 10 minutes.

“The corporately-owned may not like Bernie’s anti-establishment views but for the sake of American democracy they must allow for a fair debate in this presidential campaign,” Jeff Weaver, Sanders’ campaign manager, said in a statement. “Bernie must receive the same level of coverage on the nightly news as other leading candidates.”

Now we know why some here are not complaining about the lack of coverage. I hope they remember their views in the unlikely case that their candidate wins the primary and faces her own news blackout against Trump. I don't want to hear any WHINING in that case.

Obviously the lack of Sander's coverage is going to be the HRC talking point of the day. Here's another post on the same subject with a source that you might not find so objectionable.

as they like to pretend. They're afraid and they should be.

It also goes to show what sort of people they are deep down. That they have no sense of fairness or integrity. If they have to become corrupt and cheat to win, then they're no better than Republicans. Funny isn't it? Because often they're the very first people who claim that Democrats always have to take the high road when it comes to beating republicans.

In fact, I'm beginning to think they're so much like their republican "foes" that they are not foes at all- they're partners.

I agree that Senator Senders has basically been blackballed, but I sure as shite wouldn't link to Glen Beck's far right-wing site. Why do you want to give them traffic?

Ya know, sometimes one can agree with the message while condemning the messenger.

If you think I am rude, fine. I am sorry that I offended you.

But, I am kind of perplexed why you would think that The Blaze is a normal news site.

The linking to right-wing websites on DU has gotten out if hand. Way out of hand.

How would I know that? It does post normal news articles. And the article was not an opinion piece. Therefore, it is post worthy no matter what site it stems from. The article is not a hit piece on anyone.
