Hillary Clinton Hails Jon Stewart In Her Own 9/11 Push

Clinton helped write the first 9/11 health bills in the Senate when she represented New York.

WASHINGTON-Hillary Clinton loves her some Jon Stewart these days, and not because he's funny.
It's because he has again shined a spotlight on Congress' baffling inability to pass legislation to help ailing cops, construction workers and firefighters who answered the call on and after Sept. 11, 2001.
The issue is especially personal for Clinton, who was less than a year into her first term as the senator from New York when the planes hit the twin towers. Clinton sponsored the first bills in the Senate to aid 9/11 first responders.
Her campaign made a point of singling out Stewart with a blog post Friday, saying "Jon Stewart went back on The Daily Show to send Republicans a message. He’s right: Congress should be ashamed."
The campaign also posted a piece highlighting a responder who was grateful to Clinton, and on Thursday Clinton herself went on Twitter to chastise Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who was the target of Stewart's wrath in his return to "The Daily Show."

but the timing and the use of a name, Jon Stewart, and his new public political person arguably as famous as she, brought it out for her to jump on yet another wagon.

Again, in all fairness to Hillary (even though I'm voting for Bernie) it's hard to wrap around every conceivable issue. Yet she is crafty in speaking in broad, nigh indiscernible "policy", while allowing others to flesh out the latest or "issue" best received and then make it her own. Saves a lot of staff time.

Go Bernie !!!

And Stewart isn't about the political issues, even if there were one. It is a humanitarian issue that is Damn Late and has to do with getting Republicans off their asses. That's not national politics at present.

And before the fainting couch comes out, that was years ago...the political part. She did a good job at the time...I'll give you that, but it's not relevant to this campaign.

Hilary's motivations at all? Like you said, its irrelevant. As long as Bitch McConnell passes the bill who gives a damn?

let me guess, political purposes? It's now out there...she made it political...look at me!

And no, Bernie won't jump in on it, I dare say. That's not his style. The worst than can be said about Bernie is that he is boring...saying the same-old, same-old, for decades. In fact, I've already made up my mind so I mostly read about him.

Frankly, I don't want to hear his foreign policy at this time. It's still a year off and to do so, IMO, is just pandering. No one knows what the world stage will be like in a year. Making promises too early is why we can't stand politicians. They say what they think we want to her. Just dandy. I'll take the one that isn't handing out "political candy" to every group or issue that pops up.

Context is more important than pre-judging. The world is full of hot spots. I believe he will be more effective in cooling off some of these places. Only an idiot thinks we can bomb our enemies away...you know the Glass Desert notwithstanding.

my point is who gives a shit? Its about 9/11 responders and what they shouldn't have to ask congress to get what they deserve. Its not about Bernie's lack of understanding about foreign policy or "Style". But since you brought it up, its the job a of a president to be up on more than one issue. Crisis happen every day, its time for Sanders to figure that out and respond to it.

I know it's a favorite for some, but Hillary's love of combat and taking out dictators just because we can, is a Big Negative for a lot of us.

When he's President, I'm sure he'll be and have around him a sane (read, not Neocon) foreign policy group who will use measured responses, try something other than bombing or threats of "Boots on the Ground" (our young men and women going into harm's way to be murdered for what?????)...what an idea.

Intent and Context weights much heavier than What-Ifs Bang Bang. If "the people" vote Bernie in, you can bet foreign leaders will take note. With a few exceptions, most don't relish the Neocon's idea of American Empire. Yet, we've started all this for "dissing my Daddy"...killing his own...babies and incubators...and somebody better damn well figure out how to keep us from having to "contain" the entire ME...and it's not going to be Hillary.
