2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIf you accept corruption, you are a part of the problem
The reason why society is so corrupt nowadays is the public's implicit, virtual acceptance of corruption and the lack of will to fight it over the decades. If the public would wage war against corruption, society would be a lot better as a result.
Willingly supporting corrupt politicians like Hillary is just perpetuating the problem of corruption in politics, and suggests that you have no problem with the corrupt political system that makes the lives of the 99% much harder.

(3,649 posts)Apathy is the most difficult thing to overcome. One can be apathetic toward corruption and still vote, but you get what you vote for in the end.

(6,409 posts)We consider it our duty to support one candidate over another, for whatever reason. Most of us plan to swallow our disappointment when Hillary Clinton gets the nomination. Or maybe some of us will vomit up our disappointment. Either way, we have to decide where to go from there, whether to endorse the system with our votes, or punish our party by not voting. There are solid arguments for either option. If you accept them as "options."

It's kind of sad that you don't get that.

(11,014 posts)Corrupt politicians are not appointed by the likes of President Barack Obama to be secretary of state.
Corrupt politicians are arrested, charged and tried in courts.
Just because she is kicking Bernie's derrière doesn't make her "corrupt", "greedy", "evil", "untrustworthy" or any other adjectives you are throwing out out of frustration.
Also, both Bill and Hillary have been under republican investigation for 25+ years and if there was an iota or smidgen of corruption, would the republicans have said, "well, let's leave that corruption thing alone. Let Bernie supporters on DU sort that all out" ?

(14,524 posts)... I must agree.
Repeating the lie that we can't do better, (for whatever bullshit excuse) makes the speaker complicit in the corruption.
I refuse to support corruption, even when it's someone calling themselves a "Democrat."
