I probably lost another today....

Facebook friend who posted this...
To my democrat friends excited about yesterday. Were you more excited

A. when they left references to God and Jerusalem out of the platform
B. when they put them back in the platform
C. when you knew the voice vote had really failed to put them back in
D. when the delegates were booing after they were put back in?

My response (and yes, I'm probably going to burn in hell.)
"Putting God in the platform makes no difference to me. I am simply bound by what I'm led to in my heart and soul. Just look at all the republican bible thumpers and then look at how they treat their fellow human beings. Nothing that these religious zealots do reflects anything that God asks of us or even remotely resembles what Christ taught. Let's just say I'm VERY excited that we are still free to make or not make references to God as we see fit. Oh, and since you brought it up...I have a few god questions as they relate to your candidate....has Jesus returned (as Joseph Smith said) or is the Second Coming yet to occur? Is Romney's extraterrestrial god the same as our god of Abraham?...And are we going to heaven or to another planet? I'm just asking because, you see, all this god stuff is very confusing, particularly when it gets all twisted around in politics."

kiesters you can NEVER win with them.

There was a post on DU earlier today saying "Thank God the Dems put the religious references back in the party platform" or something to that effect.

Your friend's response illustrates why there is no point in trying to appease many of these idiots.

If you don't like some people on there whom are supposedly your friends, what the hell can anyone else do about it? Nothing.

it resonates with me and I just might use your words if you don't mind. Something, sometime, somewhere, has got to make a difference to those of your friend's mindset...or, maybe not, but we gotta try!

You are not going to burn in hell. There is no hell, and there is no heaven except the one we try to make here on this planet. We fight that fight whatever it is for as long as we can, and we pass that torch of light to the next generation, and the next, and the next. What we say, what we do matters NOW!

Make this your heaven... and know now that you have done this for generations to come.

Live now. Be real. Be reason.

11. You don't have to worry about hell.

If I believed there was one, I would look in the technical manual and read the help file about it.

Near as I can tell, there is no "Thou wilt burn in hell for something you write on Facebook that I don't like. I'm God, I have your password". Hell, I have all y'all's passwords".

So I don't think you have to worry.

over what I have posted. Lots of down-and-dirty arguments, and still they are there. I suppose that I entertain them.

On the bright side, I have lots of Democratic FB friends.

But will probably fall on deaf ear. I probably would have gone off on the person, so you did a good job.
