2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumMy daughter is going to a private Hillary event this morning in Orlando.
I'm so proud of her involvement with the Hillary campaign. As part of Hillary's campaign her and a couple of her friends were invited to the event.
The kid is 21 and is so stoked to be attending. She has big hope that she gets to meet Hillary. I told her...take pictures!

How about a little "disloyal Jew"-style antisemitism?
Speaking of antisemitism, apparently Bernie's whole problem is that he's a racist jew! There's a great way to win friends.
Should we call clinton a rapist.
Assert that she's a total gun nut who is a big defender of the Minutemen.
Maybe claim that Hillary Clinton is a Republican with her head between women's legs.
Accuse her of being aa latent(?) rapist! maybe even a pedophile!
Maybe we could assert she defends racist cops and Virginia slavery, too!
And of course, you'd be fine if we asserted all of Clinton's supporters must be white supremacists?
If not white supremacists, they must be a cult!
They DO clearly fantasize about turning women on DU into "quivering little chickenshits"
Tell me again about how a given candidate's supporters are the problem?

Divernan
(15,480 posts)That was the going rate at her event in Fox Chapel, PA. They were closely timed - no personal conversations with the candidate - average 10 seconds each. It was a round 'em up, head 'em in, snap the pic and run 'em out - Rawhide!
Let's see, that's $270 per second for HRC's time, translating to $16,200 per minute, or $972,000 per hour. That's even more expensive than her $15,750 per minute rate for one of her paid lectures! ($315,000 divided by 20 minute length of speech)
In one of her last gigs on the paid lecture circuit, Hillary Rodham Clinton addressed an eBay summit aimed at promoting women in the workplace, delivering a 20-minute talk that garnered her a $315,000 payday from the company.
Less than two months later, Clinton was feted at the San Francisco Bay-area home of eBay chief executive John Donahoe and his wife, Eileen, for one of the first fundraisers supporting Clintons newly announced presidential campaign.
The two events spotlight the unusually close financial ties between Clinton and a broad array of industries that have issues before the government and paid millions of dollars to her and her husband, former president Bill Clinton, in the months preceding the launch of her presidential campaign.

(4,377 posts)Seriously, who exactly do you think Bernie supporters are exactly? Seems its time for you to clear your head and remember we're all Democrats not frothing Tea Party psychos.
You think Bernie fans wish they could watch Hillary being burned to death? Really, that's how far this nomination process has devolved now?
Oh and to the op, I hope your daughter has a lovely time. Meeting any major political figure would be an interesting and rewarding experience.
quickesst
(6,281 posts).... you have a problem. Alert on and be my guest
Kentonio
(4,377 posts)As for literal, no I don't think you literally think Sanders supporters want to watch a woman burned to death, but by using that language (even as snark) you're just continuing to drive a wedge between the party.
quickesst
(6,281 posts).... was nothing but kumbaya let's get together? Or did you take the time to admonish in the same way that you felt you had to admonish me? If not then don't play double standard. If the initial wedge hadn't been driven, there would have been no need for my post you refer to. I say go talk to the Hillary haters who won't vote for her if she is the Democratic nominee. Now that's a wedge . I am voting for the Democratic nominee even if it's a duck in the water.
Kentonio
(4,377 posts)Because there are divisions occuring which will reverberate for a long time and do a lot of harm to the party regardless of who wins. It's sad that we've reached this point, where people of similar political views are at each others throats (and I've been just as guilty lately). It feels like its reached a point now where there is no way back other than a bitter fight to the end and then months of bad feelings.
Ironically after saying I never alert, I also just had to alert on a post for the first time (nothing to do with this conversation). Strange day.
quickesst
(6,281 posts)Just because of that response, and since I can't seem to keep from "shootin' from the hip", I will at least endeavor to limit my "snark" to the less offensive use of humor. Deal?
A experience she will cherish for the lifetime.
