Where would you like your preferred candidate, if he or she doesn't get nominated?

Both O'Malley and Clinton are out of public service right now, so the obvious answer for Sanders is for him to stay in the Senate. Still, it's an interesting question.

Were O'Malley not to get the nomination, I could see him as VP, but honestly I would rather have him as Secretary of either HHS, HUD, or the Veterans' Administration than VP'ing.

O'malley - VP wouldn't be a bad move for him.
Clinton - On-the-ground charity relief work in Western Iraq.

Bernie Sanders: the US Senate, where he can continue doing some good.

Martin O'Malley: VEEP? Highly unlikely under either a Sanders or Clinton administration. However a cabinet post is certainly a good deal for everybody. He's very smart, focussed, and has rather awesome organization skills.

Hillary Clinton: I imagine that she would do good in just about anything she wanted to. But let's just pretend that she would run for US Senate again. That would be pretty damned good. I don't see any advantage for anybody if she remained in the five or six figure per lecture circuit. Alternative: a cabinet post, although somehow I doubt that she would take it.

Sanders: In the Senate, lobbying hard to pass good legislation.

Clinton: Health care and human rights work.

8. Sanders is the easy one here. For O'Malley and Clinton the doors is open.

Sanders - Career politician. No secret where he will stay until he retires.

O'Malley - I want him in a position of negotiation with republicans. The VP slot would be excellent for him and would set him up for a run down the road. That said, there are numerous positions where his negotiation skills would be beneficial.

Clinton - Continue her excellent humanitarian work around the globe. Continue to build the Democratic party. Or retire and enjoy some of the wealth she has amassed, I just don't see her doing that. She cares too much about the direction of the country.

9. I think O'Malley could become a cabinet member if he is not our nominee.

He's the only one who currently doesn't have a job, and yet at the same time, heads a gazillion dollar foundation.
I'm not worried about Hillary at all.

As for Bernie, he's still serving the people of Vermont in the Senate.

I'm not concerned about the candidates in 2016.
But, I'm not going to vote for any candidate in 2020 that already endorsed Clinton.
I have a long memory, and I am not going to forget.
