I have a lot of respect for Ellison given how hard it must be to be an elected Muslim in this country.

But as noted by another poster, it would possibly help with the Latino vote. I don't know if Grijalva has enough name recognition to make a significant difference.

An additional potential is Cory Booker, who would help with the black vote. I would say it would in theory help in a potential general election against Christie, but given that nobody in New Jersey thinks Christie would make a good president, that's probably not a significant consideration.

I also think that Kristen Gillibrand would be a good choice. She is a good fundraiser and is popular within the party and so has the connections that Sanders doesn't.

A long shot candidate would be somebody like Brian Schweitzer who has a similar appeal to Sanders. The downside is that he's also from a small state.

That said, other than maybe Schweitzer, none of them would sign on to be named as a VP candidate unless Sanders is the presumptive nominee.

It has to be his choice, not mine. I cannot imagine him having a bad pick. Like Gore in 2000 picking f****ing Liberman for his choice. I was newly back in the US from Africa and needed to re-register to vote, but I couldn't imagine checking a box that included that slimy Dino, so I chose not to vote that year! I was leaving soon anyway.

I trust Bernie to pick a good Veep. He has the core values I respect.

I'd be loving to see how Netanyahu would meet with a presidential team of a Jew and a Muslim! Would make for a lot of interesting conversations!

Though perhaps not a realistic team, I think that team would be great to help us try to have a vivid demonstration of how the many religious, cultural, racial, and other barriers should be brought down in our society and that our focus as human beings is on us all as HUMAN BEINGS!!!

supporting Sanders for the Democratic nomination because they know they can beat him. I think we would be extremely foolish to fall into that trap.

Clinton, on the other hand, has weathered every attempt they've made to derail her, most recently the Benghazi fiasco. Bernie's never had to face anything similar, and I don't believe his candidacy could survive it. Outside of liberal, highly educated enclaves, "socialist" is a poison pill. The irony that Sanders isn't really a socialist at all will go over most people's heads at light speed.

Obama comes straight out of the Daley organization in Chicago. He married into it, ffs. Michelle's father was a member. Nor was Ted Kennedy exactly negligible.

Obama did not run as a lone wolf, and he has been a better president for the support he has had.

Sanders can't even get a fellow Senator to back him. There's no comparison.

Bernie hasn't. Don't kid yourself that "socialist" isn't a poison pill. Raising taxes on the middle class is another. So is "draft dodger.* Right wing publications are already asking whether Jane Sanders will go to jail for securities fraud. And it will get much, much worse from there.

The sad fact that our democracy has been purchased by corporations who have bought themselves a government that no longer represents, "We The People."

That's fucking old. And it's disgusting.

I could care less if Bernie was 35, or 75.

Bernie is a once-in-a-lifetime candidate because he intends to put an end to this hijacking of our democracy and destruction of our middle class--as most other politicians take corporate handouts and continue to act as slaves for these greedy interests.

Bernie Sanders is the only candidate who is serious about returning this nation to its rightful owners, "We The People."
