Related: About this forumHow many Hillary bumper stickers on your street?
I cant find any except for the one time in a parking lot with the (presumably) anti-Walmart sticker next to it.
I can see multiple Sanders stickers and signs.
Come on, Supporters.com show some team spirit and promote the candidate of your choice.
Is it just California?
Just Central California?
Just my town? my street?
too conservative for Hillary?
too radical?
I will drive by Democratic HQ and look for some there.
Cruise the upper crust hoods and take a count.
I just want to understand, it could be a blind spot, I do ignore
advertising to the best of my abilities, and watch the road the same.
How many on your street?

(698 posts)So far I've seen two Carson and one Sanders stickers (and none of those are on my street -- I'm talking the whole region). No other candidate-specific stickers at all.

(796 posts)The only bumper stickers on my block are Obama/Biden 2012. No window signs either except for a sign for a local city council candidate and the guy who lives there is a good friend of said candidate.

(24,780 posts)Bumper stickers. Every car in town had one from dog catcher on up to prez. Not so any more. Used to be between yard sign freebies and bumper stickers you could reliably judge who was going to win. Not so any more since generally you have to donate or buy them.

Paying hundreds of thousands for a couple of local 30 second ads, which might only meet several tens of thousands seems counterproductive. People ignore, change the channel, DVR past them, or just plain miss the ad.
If you send homes a bumper sticker, they might place it on their refrigerator, their car, school books, window, etc.. That object has lasting messaging. It also offers a level of connection as the ownership of the item is real, and not some nebulous solicitation.
Oh, also a bumper sticker tramsmits messaging to family, friends and neighbors for months on end. It's reach is not local to the recipient.

(3,373 posts)the same way I do: Sanders is the best candidate we can recall in our adult lives, but Clinton will probably take the nomination and we'll support her but without much optimism or excitement (except the obvious enthusiasm of opposing the wingnut Republican nominee), and none of us thinks Clinton is likely to win the general election against likely Republican nominee Rubio (but she has a better chance against Trump and -- to a lesser degree -- Cruz).
Clinton is the clearest pathway to a Rubio presidency.
Sanders' quest is a uphill fight, but he's offering something different and with great potential appeal. Sanders offers cross-party populist appeal for those who want a new New Deal that is not rigged to favor the 1%. Clinton would be better than any of the Republicans, but she'd govern about halfway between Obama and Jeb, and we deserve the right to hope for more.

That's about it. Nothing visible for Clinton, not even a friggin yard sign. I see plenty of Bernie bumperstickers and yard signs.

Monday Morning
We begin with the three words everyone writing about the election must say: Nobody knows anything. Everyones guessing. I spent Sunday morning in Washington with journalists and political hands, one of whom said she feels its Obama, the rest of whom said they dont know. I think its Romney. I think hes stealing in like a thief with good tools, in Walker Percys old words. While everyone is looking at the polls and the storm, Romneys slipping into the presidency. Hes quietly rising, and hes been rising for a while.
...
But to the election. Who knows what to make of the weighting of the polls and the assumptions as to who will vote? Who knows the depth and breadth of each partys turnout efforts? Among the wisest words spoken this cycle were by John Dickerson of CBS News and Slate, who said, in a conversation the night before the last presidential debate, that he thought maybe the American people were quietly cooking something up, something we dont know about.
I think they are and I think its this: a Romney win.
...
There is no denying the Republicans have the passion now, the enthusiasm. The Democrats do not. Independents are breaking for Romney. And theres the thing about the yard signs. In Florida a few weeks ago I saw Romney signs, not Obama ones. From Ohio I hear the same. From tony Northwest Washington, D.C., I hear the same.
...
I suspect both Romney and Obama have a sense of whats coming, and its part of why Romney looks so peaceful and Obama so roiled.

More and more people "pull back" their political side publicly because there are some really lousy fucking fanatics out there that will do shit to your vehicle because of it.

But it's early yet, right?
We've only had two debates, and I think people are just avoiding everything political this early in the process.
And with distractions like sports and having to work two jobs to pay growing bills with less money every year, they just aren't connected they way they should be.

(1,252 posts)Ours says Bernie and we see a couple more for him here and there in the San Fernando Valley, CA. I think there is such division and unpleasantness that many people do not want to publicly declare who they are for for fear of confrontation. Or people are waiting to rally behind the candidate who wins the primary. Or people just aren't buying what she and the media are selling? Or maybe this form of marketing is kind of old hat and social media has eclipsed all - in which case - Bernie has sure won the web. Even big movies can't get their gigantic posters and billboards to stand out among the noise of the zillion gigabyte per second on our senses. Everything seems like noise now.
I think it is impossible to deny the enthusiasm and sheer numbers of the electorate that are rallying behind Bernie Sanders as the crowds show. Contrast that with the subject of your bumper sticker post. How fervent is that support?
Anyway, my sticker is proudly displayed on my bumper. BERNIE!

(22,271 posts)a bunch of bumper stickers, buttons and rally signs and we've been giving them out pretty freely lately so I'd like to think that some of those may be from our group.
Like you, I've seen a goodly amount of Bernie bumper stickers and signs. I've seen one Hillary sign in the Tower District. That's it. I've seen nothing at all in the north part of town (what I call the foo-foo section). Interestingly enough, our honk-and-wave on the corner of Fruit and Ashlan was much more successful than the one we did on Blackstone and Shaw.

Le Taz Hot
(22,271 posts)is that it wasn't a planned event. We were doing voter registration in some nearby apartments and we were just waiting for the other volunteers to show up and thought we might as well do a honk-and-wave while we were waiting. It was something else. People stopped, wanted to talk about Bernie, wanted to know who we were, etc. We asked all the people who stopped if they would let us put a Bernie bumper sticker on their cars and they ALL said an enthusiastic, "Yes!" He has an amazing number of supporters here.

We wanted to go to FCC but it's just gotten too cold to table for awhile so, other than the occasional honk-and-wave, we've moved indoors and we're doing phone banking for Iowa and Nevada. This is the first week since July 29, that we don't have any events planned but after the New Year, we're going to kick it into high gear going into the early caucus/primaries. We HAVE to keep him alive through California.

(4,522 posts)I haven't seen any political stickers at all since moving to a new neighborhood earlier this year. That is an improvement, we moved from a neighborhood where conservative/tea party stickers proliferated. We don't put stickers on our car because in the past, that has led to cars getting keyed or tagged. I believe our new neighbors may have had similar experiences, this certainly isn't a GOP or TP neighborhood.
I've seen a few Bernie stickers on cars from out of state.
