2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumJust saw a Mittens TV ad for the first time.
It was actually an ad by his superPAC. It was stupid - claims Obama didn't create any jobs as a community organizer and lawyer, but Mittens created thousands of them and has a plan to turn around the economy.
I'm in Minnesota, and our caucuses are next Tuesday, so I suppose I'll have to see this shit on my teevee til then.

(115,806 posts)Anyhow, all my friends and neighbors are Democrats, so we are mostly just laughing at Mittens, et al. I assume Mitt will win the caucus, though the Bachmanites in the 6th District might go for Santorum.

(28,082 posts)For us winning the straw poll at the caucuses doesn't necessarily mean you'll wind up with the most delegates if your supporters don't get themselves elected to first the Senate District convention and from there the Congressional & State Conventions where the national delegates are picked.
Besides Willard's ad I've also seen ads for Santorum, Gingrich and Ron Paul (his was clearly aimed at a younger audience). I don't remember a year when we were subjected to ads like this before the caucuses. As a rule, both sides have viewed our caucuses as not really worth the time or money. This must be more fall out from Citizens United.

The Ronulans seem to be active - Paul has quite a following among white male jock 20-something John Galt fanboys.
