(5,066 posts)that is BS.Bernie will have independents, firsttime voters, and others voting for him which don't fit the likely voter screen.
But,whatever it takes to make headline for Clinton I see.

(36,649 posts)Supposed "progressives" want change, but when they don't win everywhere instantly & automatically, instead of buckling down, refining their message and trying to win support for their issues, they spend their time tearing down Democrats & the Democratic Party. Then they wonder why a minority party like the GOP still has influence.

(15,647 posts)but why should Bernie supporters come out for Hillary when she so obviously triangulates back to center right once she feels secure about the nomination? A legitimate question in the minds of folks who are weary of and increasingly disenfranchised by the status quo.
Maybe things need to get worse before they get better.

You can call it UnSkewed Polls or something.

(11,417 posts)When they say likely voters they ask the question "will you vote in the primary"
I know you need any kind of thing to give hope.
Maybe you need some un skewed poll web site

(150 posts)You sparked my curiosity. The following url directs to Pew's research on their method of determining likely voters.
http://www.people-press.org/2001/05/18/screening-likely-voters-a-survey-experiment/
It would seem that likely voters are those who have both a history of voting and knowledge of their personal polling place. Which doesn't provide proof that crossover voters, independents, those previously unmotivated will sway the day for Bernie. A force to be acknowledged though.

(25,586 posts)that a section of Bernie's support isn't being counted because they're just now voting age or because they're older but somehow they never noticed that we elect out government before now.
But - and it's a big but - will that vote be big enough to swing some of these huge margins? The numbers would have to be unprecedented.
As one of the few people perfectly happy to have either candidate I'm curious to watch it play out. I just wish everyone would play a little nicer.

(3,649 posts)It's about 50/30 in favor of Hillary. Headline in no way tells the whole story.

(5,066 posts)she turns off indepdents and young voters
she drives out republican turnout
she has ailenated 30 to 35% of dems assuming polls hold and she wins.
It is time to have someone who will fight for our values.it's not about getting everything.it's getting something
war.trade.wall street.social safety net.these are all reasons why liberlas or progressives support Bernie over her.you can ignore
the issues and make this cult of personality of just having a woman or dem win and ignore the issues.dems don't mean good thing
will come

(1,309 posts)What doesit accomplish in your mind? Are you trying to enthuse Hillary fans or to lower Bernie turnout? Either way, you are not sending a message of democracy and consideration for the views of others. Polls may be correct but it will not stop Bernie supporters who criticize your candidate for being poll rather than value driven. Every time you send out something mentioning a poll, a Bernie supporter says I will work harder for the people because they need Bernie. So keep on doing and do not forget we Bernie fans know you really mean well and want an honest discussion of issues- not!
Just a few questions? Does Hillary not want to expand the very popular Social Security Program? Did she come out for $12 minimum wage when people were fighting for $15? Did she just state she was against Medicare for All because it cost more than the ACA? Is her position on Syria really to the right of President Obama's? Is she really still undecided about the need to repeal Citizens United and get big money out of politics? If she wants to maintain her lead in the polls, she must move to the left and to the positions of Bernie. Unfortunately her connection with the 1 percent and her support of these positions are raising eyebrows. I guess my question to you is do you agree with her positions on these matters or are you afraid of something or complacent or what?
