Should political candidates make promises they can't keep?

Recent examples are repealing Obamacare, not raising the debt limit, rolling back the Iran deal, etc.

Those are promises that republicans couldn't and didn't keep. It has led to the embittrered tea party. Should republicans make promises they can't keep?

the ramifications of the promise.

And voters need to be realistic about what they want.

Repealing Obamacare is based on a lie that it is government paid health care.

And people that make a show of it like trying to repeal Obamacare 50 times? They knew it would never pass.

Especially when they previously acknowledge that single-payer has no chance of passing.

They all do anyway, and I don't expect that to change anytime soon.
As long as they try to keep those promises, I am cool with it. Sometimes promises that are not fulfilled are not entirely a candidate's fault.

edited: I am talking about all candidates here and not just Rs as the OP listed.
