“Well, I’d like to see them steal this one.”

Conservatives Stole Farmer’s Sanders Signs, So He Plowed Bernie’s Name Into His Field
AUTHOR: JOHN PRAGER NOVEMBER 21, 2015 3:20 PM

It’s not exactly news that conservatives resort to shady tactics like defacing and stealing campaign paraphernalia, but what one farmer did in response is simply amazing. Iowa farmer Mike Pattavina loves Bernie Sanders. After our friends on the Right stole a few traditional campaign signs from his yard, the soybean farmer used his skills to create a sign they couldn’t take — by plowing a quarter-acre “Bernie” into his field in 60-foot letters.

The 68-year-old farmer says that, inspired by his experiences with theft of his property by someone in “ultra-conservative” Clarinda, he got the idea while going about his daily business:

“I was on my tractor one day and thought, ‘Well, I’ll just try this. It worked out pretty good. “It only took 20 minutes. Maybe 30, max.”

Pattavina has farmed his entire life, but this masterpiece was the first time he has used his land to make a political statement — and don’t worry, the soybeans were already harvested, so it didn’t hurt anything when he “free-handed” the letters in his field.

“I just want people to see it, and maybe, hopefully, some people can see it from the air,” he said. “Just to show support for Bernie.”

..................

No matter what, it’s going to be very difficult for the conservatives with whom Pattavina is surrounded to steal this sign. After he finished his tribute to Sanders, he joked, “Well, I’d like to see them steal this one.”

I have video cameras recording it. You can clearly see Feel The Bern on the t-shirts of the thiefs.

I just made all that up...see how it works.

I learned that lesson for a horticulture friend of mine when I was making a little flowerbed in front of my house. "Shit" he said. "Go big" and I ended up doing both sides of my driveway with pines, bushes, flowers, etc. The mulch alone cost a small fortune. But it was glorious .

A to farmer Pattavina
