"I don't care if the house burns down, we need to make a political statement, dammit!"

"So what if the house burned down, it was worth it to make that political statement!"

What should be the American people's priorities when the 99% are ever more increasingly under attack, with trade deals that threaten to give legal power to big corporations to subvert American laws, to the point that we can't trust the food we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe? When America becomes nothing more than a playground of the billionaires, with billionaires basically dividing America up and competing with each other and using us as mere pawns? When hedge funds target the drug you depend on to live and jack up the price of it to $10,000? When the 1% has successfully automated jobs and send jobs overseas to the point that you won't ever be able to get a decent job anymore due to the flood of people looking for jobs? And what about your children, who have to face an uncertain future because generations nowadays didn't have the will nor the care to stand up to the oil industry and break their power in Washington in their ability to stall efforts to combat Climate Change?

What should be the American people's priorities? What should be the Democratic Party constituents priorities?

5. The 1% are putting in the infrastructure to make it harder and harder than ever to turn it around

From laws in states to disenfranchise minorities to these trade deals to give big corporations legal power to bypass laws that protect the American people to media consolidation, etc... The 1% are brazen in their belief that they can stomp out Democracy and retain power, at least till Climate Change destabilizes the entire world and civilization breaks down...

Most everything else will take care of itself once politicians have to answer to the voters instead of lobbyists. Imo.

when the very ones who change the status quo are the ones who benefit from it.

Well, look-y there, two of our top dems, front & center with Paulson.

And at this link, Paulson, laughing about increasing the inequality gap.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-09-06/we-made-it-wider-hank-paulson-bursts-out-laughing-when-asked-about-wealth-inequality

Speaking of Goldman Sachs and income inequality, back in April, Hank Paulson and Robert Rubin sat down with Sheryl Sandberg and Tim Geithner at an event hosted by Michael Milken (no less), to discuss a variety of topics. Around a half hour into the discussion, Sandberg asks Paulson about income inequality. Here’s what happens next:

Sandberg: “Yeah, so let’s follow up on a bunch of the things we were [talking about]. Let’s start with income inequality.”

Paulson: “Ok, well.. income inequality. I think this is something we’ve all thought about. You know I was working on that topic when I was still at Goldman Sachs..”

Rubin: “In which direction? You were working on increasing it.”

Paulson then bursts out laughing: "Yeah! We were making it wider!"

I'd like to think I'm not a complete cynic, but I think we're totally FUBAR.

6. Top priority is electing President Sanders as he is the candidate who is working to change all that.

Clinton will likely continue "free trade" deals and we know she will protect Wall Street. She's against single payer health care and won't go for a $15/hr wage.

The only viable candidate who will put the 99% first is Bernie. It's now or never. Next round will be too late.
