(26,549 posts)There were 4 older people sitting at a table, glaring at everyone else in the room. Attempts to talk to them about their candidate was met with scoffing and derision. The attitude was how dare we have questions.
There was one extremely energetic woman thrilled to talk to anyone. Decked out in her candidate's gear and happily handing out merchandise and collecting voter information. Greeted every single person who walked into the room with a smile and massive enthusiasm.
The result of that effort was our county overwhelmingly backed Obama.
I don't think "organizing" is the problem. That just gets 6 people at the table.
