(9,086 posts)SEIU represents a lot of health care workers, and I believe some nurses too. Certainly a lot of home health workers, and hospital staff.
I have a hard time accepting why this union endorses a candidate that in the last debate made a full throated attack against the idea of single payer health insurance.
I really question whether they're serving their members well. If I was an SEIU member right now I would be in full revolt mode.

(30,481 posts)Unions are doing the same. The thought process some have is amazingly flawed. Steve, if a candidate started the fight for 17, regardless of clout or other positions, would you blindly jump in with that candidate? How some of you come to this thought process is beyond me.

(99,662 posts)Clinton is fighting for $12. You will see a couple photos of Hillary here from long before the endorsement. No pictures-stories of Bernie fighting for $15. I wonder why?

(30,481 posts)One candidate has no clout an unions are very well aware of this. Few of Sanders colleagues will even endorse him. I know, it's because they are scared or some other made up bullshit. lol. One person out there right now has the clout. It isn't the guy with no backing or coattails. The unions know this very well. Once again, your thought process that it is about fifteen or bust is very flawed. Truly makes no sense logically. Will you just jump behind the first fight for 17 person? It's comical at this point. We need a higher national wage. Unions know a huge step toward accomplishing this is to get Clinton elected President. Common sense. They has it.

It's comical in an ironic sense.

(17,651 posts)Gee whizzers - my family...my kids could plow through that like magic...................
Then there are those products with the shrinking package contents that never charge less for less.
Then you have so many people who can only get part-time hours working for the slavers, have household bills (besides) food to pay for, kids always have unforeseen expenses, hell there are always unforeseen expenses.
Fuck that $12 bullshit. Aim HIGH.
