2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHillary criticized Obama for saying we should go after Bin Laden in Pakistan
Last summer, he basically threatened to bomb Pakistan, which I don't think was a particularly wise position to take.

But now that Obama successfully took Bin Laden out in Pakistan like he said he would, Hillary uses it as an example of a crisis?

(35,015 posts)Got that??? And in case you didn't notice, the question was about a personal crisis.
I find her answer a bit too convenient.

(45,251 posts)Gee, Something else leapt to mind, but ok, let's go with Osama was personal.
To be fair, strategy says you answer the question you want to answer, which may not be the one you were actually asked.

(5,204 posts)From my link, Obama said
"I understand that President Musharraf has his own challenges. But let me make this clear: There are terrorists holed up in those mountains who murdered 3,000 Americans. They are plotting to strike again. It was a terrible mistake to fail to act when we had a chance to take out an al Qaeda leadership meeting in 2005. If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf will not act, we will."

(53,066 posts)You bet it's a crisis. She said it gave her a sense of the heavy responsibilities of being a president.
What Bernie called a crisis is what legislators do every day. And you're complaining about Clinton's response?
Incredible.

(53,066 posts)It was what sort of crisis have you gone through that prepares you for being president.
Bernie said his crisis was facing obstacles getting a bill passed. No doubt it was a novelty for him since it was the only major piece of legislation he sponsored that became law in over 30 years in congress, but for the average legislator that is part of their daily routine.
I actually thought O'Malley's response to that question was the best.

(5,204 posts)faced. Definitely far more of a crisis than killing Bin Laden.

(53,066 posts)Moreover, you don't care what he said. It's obvious you'll say anything to promote one man's political fortunes.
By your measure, congress is in a continual state of crisis, worse than the Paris bombings, 9/11, mass shootings, or anything that takes lives. Your position is completely unbelievable and that you promote it is just sad.

(5,204 posts)Successfully killing Bin Laden is not.
This has nothing to do with who is supporting which candidate.
