2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI give up. All of the Democratic Primary Candidates
are the wrong candidates. We need a brand new, ideal, unifying candidate who will bring us all together in a peaceful coalition founded on friendship and humor. Let's draft Al Franken. He'd be perfect. Let's insist that he join the campaign and all of America will fall in line behind his candidacy and create a 50-state landslide victory for one and all.
Let's just toss the current list and run a successful satirist and Senator for President. IT'S NOT TOO LATE!!11! If we all come together, we can do this. Let's create a new website for this movement: StartOver2016.com
I'm all in!
Sincerely,
Mineralista Manbro

(30,481 posts)Love Clinton and Coors Light. Would love to have a Coors Light with Clinton. Would love to have one with O'Malley and Sanders as well. I'm just a lost third wayer or something. Maybe I just want to get drunk and need a buddy. Shit, I don't drink anymore. Hope this doesn't leave me vulnerable for a swiftboating. lol.

(182,806 posts)Or did I read that wrong.?
BTW Franken wrote a book (not his best) in which he runs primarily on a platform of getting rid of ATM fees. Wins. Makes a bad racial joke and slips into a fog of depression.

I mean Led Zeppelin covered Hello Mary Lou but it still sounded like Led Zeppelin.

When was the last time you ever took a tab of LSD?...............LOL
Be honest............ I and many others can tell.......... Oh, then that's why you are so predicable.
I can't see any consciousness in you, but intelligence, but the same old rhetoric, with no links
but opinions...
Your thoughts on children and your vision of the future,,,,,,,, must haunt your posterity given to you by someone's else time and life?
What did you ever do to sacrifice your great power of wisdom for the betterment of society?........... Did you teach?, organize labor,

(146,311 posts)I stopped doing all of that in 1974, when I started writing full-time for a living as a freelancer.
As for the rest, none of that is any of your business in any way.

(146,311 posts)I did serve from 1965-69 in the USAF, though. They found things for me to do.

(146,311 posts)Sadly, he's been dead these past 8 years. I'm pretty sure being alive is a requirement to run.
I remember him well, though. He ran in 1968, but never really got the traction he deserved.
