Champion UFC fighter Ronda Rousey's Feeling the Bern...

(cross-post from Bernie Sanders Group)

“I’m voting for Bernie Sanders, because he doesn’t take any corporate money,” Rousey said. “I don’t think politicians should be allowed to take money for their campaigns from outside interests.”

Here's a ditty in today's paper about how much people care about its repercussions...

It took nine years after the attacks for Congress to guarantee health care for the firefighters, police officers, chaplains and others who fell ill as a result of toiling in the dusty ruins of the World Trade Center...
BUT, the Sept 30th reauthorization deadline for the Zadrdoga Act passed without action, sparking a fresh battle that is proving more bitter than the first.

For the first responders caught in the middle, the bitterness is compounded by the respiratory diseases, cancers and other ailments they suffer, and by the realization that money for their monitoring and health care will RUN OUT unless Congress acts before the end of the year.

So much for caring what happen to help the first responders. My own story in government figures right into these non-caring individuals who act so shocked to hear anyone complain that we didn't do all we should have for those responders. Right before I served municipal council, I signed a petition in the hopes of investigating the crime scene of 9/11. There has never been empirical evidence of the cause behind their respiratory disease from those first responder's HORRID exposure. When someone found it necessary to go data mining what I may or may not have had in my background before serving council, several hateful people decided to deride me for signing a document, and along with hurls of insults, threw out the same accusations of being a "truther" for my interest (I'm a respiratory therapist). I realized pretty quickly when serving local government that attacks like this was just a political ploy to destroy my chance of staying on municipal council. In fact, it's pretty desperate when people cannot distinguish the way governmental departments poorly act from those who try to hid their incompetence, such as the Bushies did during this time, which by the way was the perfect opportunity for Clinton to act.

So, the GROSSLY uninformed still think if they should throw the "truther" meme when IF day was questioned. News flash.. it's STILL in question. And, now, because we didn't care enough to do something then and now, these firefighters are still being ignored to their last dying breath...

You think any commenters in this thread were considering the first responders when throwing out that meme? Doubtful.

1) that she voted that way, and b) that she thinks it's something worth bragging about.

I love her abilities in the ring. No one in this sport is going to go undefeated through a solid career.

That line I used was actually from a facebook post on my newsfeed this morning.

I am not a huge MMA fan. I like boxing. But a large part of her mystique rested on being undefeated. The big money is still in boxing and there is even less money for female combatants.

so many women bash a fellow women who has done wonders for women being respected in a so called man's sport. IMO even though she caught a beating she still deserves respect.
