Let's Cross that Bridge When We Come to It

Lot of direct and indirect stuff around here about "supporting whoever the nominee is" and "we all need to focus on the real battle with the GOP" and "don't criticize our likely candidate."

This is still the primary. Actually the primary hasn't even started.

How about we at least pretend the primary is actually a campaign, and not a Coronation?

Can we at least go through the motions of pretending our elections are something more than a Wal Mart of candidates pre approved by the elites?

I suppose I should add this lest people say this is a premature defeatist post.

There are three primary candidates. There will be primaries or caucuses in all 50 states. In the end, one candidate will become the nominee.

Democrats will vote for the nominee.

Electability is one of the factors in the decision of whom to support.

Vote for the candidate you prefer in the primaries. What follows is a binary choice between the Democrat and the Republican. I don't mind people talking about that choice when talking about primary candidate. Its a valid issue.

But enthusiasm for Bernie while threatening to sit out if he's not the nominee = pro-democracy?

Ok.

The the smugness and condescension that is often displayed -- and words like desperation, and grieving, and "You can't criticize the Nominee (Clinton) but it's fine to go after Sanders" is what I am referring to.
