Why we can't sweat who is or isn't feeling Sanders

I read this and liked it -

http://www.theroot.com/articles/politics/2015/10/bernie_sanders_why_black_voters_still_aren_t_feeling_him.html

I appreciate the author's refreshingly honest take on the issue of Bernie's disconnect with AA voters. It was nice to read something more serious than the Bernie's supporters are EEEVIL! nonsense that's usually offered in place of actual analysis.

But here's the question - what really can be done about older, christian voters with a long-standing loyalty to the Hill-Bill machine? Sure, maybe Bernie can preach more gospel of hope, but even the author doesn't seem to believe that will do it. The message, as far as I can tell, is "sorry Bernie you're up against a largely intractable demographic". Let's hope the youngsters can carry the day.

And not just ad's, ground game, staff, offices, campaign rallies, etc.

Still may not be good enough to defeat someone like Hillary who has spent nearly her entire life building coalitions in the black community.

Could Bernie have been more attuned at first? Yes. Can Bernie keep trying harder? Yes. Is it because Bernie's innumerable character flaws make him suck with PoC? No. As the piece points out, if you plug any other prominent dem other than Clinton into the ticket with Sanders, the result is more or less the same for this demo.
