(18,421 posts)bravenak
(34,648 posts)I never seen him go down and spend time with folks that resemble ME! Execpt at a college or somthin, where he cannot be soiled by us lowly peons. He won't even tell his revolution to 'knock it off' with calling us names or using 'race card' as an epithet against us. He won't even lift a finger to tweet one tweet about it. His grassroots can abuse us at will and he cares not. They are his special folks, the rest of us are just a bucket of votes.
Fearless
(18,421 posts)bravenak
(34,648 posts)He goes to where they at and give them PLENTY of attention, won't even tell them to not harass us. How we know he cares if he ignores stuff? Won't say boo to his favorite children while we sit over here like red headed step children of a different and inferior color.
We know who has time for us and who creates a place for us that is safe within their groups of support. Not him!
Fearless
(18,421 posts)It's really getting very old. I haven't seen one, single, instance of you being harassed. Not one. At all. Zero.
Everything you have against Bernie Sanders is in your head.
Bernie has spoken with BLM, has engaged POC with a platform that makes sense to reform the prison system, gun control, economic and social disparities for POC, and on and on.
But none of it is good enough for you.
Why?
Hillary hasn't done anything at all.
But you're going to vote for her because Bernie is to your "right" on issues?
You literally have no clue.
We are not your enemy. We are all friends on DU. We are NOT racist. We do not condone racism. We are voting for Bernie in part because a vote for him is a vote for EQUALITY for POC and other minority groups.
We love you. And everyone else too. Even the idiot Republicans.
So please just stop. No one is out to get you here.
bravenak
(34,648 posts)Then you will not see me complain.
When you decide to jump on shit like this:http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251788136
I will take you seriously.
Fearless
(18,421 posts)You do realize that the poster is DEFENDING POC right?
bravenak
(34,648 posts)There is a history with that poster.
So, telling us we get what we deserve is defending us? No fucking wonder there is no progress. If you think we are all going to see tgat as a defense, not a race based attack, I can see why you have never seen anything wrong come from that side. Nothing about poor whites, who there are moany more of on welfare, just targets us for the 'you get what you deserve, you blacks, if you don't vote bernie'. How is that supposed to not make us hurl?
Fearless
(18,421 posts)That's the fact.
And by percentage, more POC are on welfare than white people, but that's irrelevant, there was simply no reason for you to even bring it up.
bravenak
(34,648 posts)Not fine with me at all.
Fearless
(18,421 posts)And it's not singling out black people as a group.
Clinton does not care about black people.
She cares about being elected.
She will say and do anything to be elected.
bravenak
(34,648 posts)Just cause it don't bother you, doesn't mean the rest of us will feel the same. It is why Bernie gets absolutely nowhere with us. We see that and say something? His fans jump through hoops to try to defend it instead if just seeing why people would see it that way, and stepping up to say, THIS IS WRONG. That's all it takes. His fans to step up and say, THIS IS WRONG, instead of beating US up to defend the indefensible.
Fearless
(18,421 posts)As a gay person I do not feel singled out. I believe that if a gay person votes for Hillary they also get what they deserve. It would be a profoundly gigantic slap in the face to people who actually care about LGBT people and don't use them as stairs to reach the presidency.
No one is making racist comments.
You keep claiming they are.
They're not.
Criticism of Hillary is NOT a racist comment.
These are factual statements.
She is AWFUL for POC.
She is playing you.
I'll repeat that.
SHE IS PLAYING YOU.
Good night.
bravenak
(34,648 posts)They are BOTH politicians. Nobody is putting halos on her so I am not talking about her.
Everybody tells us bernie is the best. He voted for mass incarceration. Stahp! Just be real. Politicians. Both want to use us. Only one takes time to be bothered with us. One lets their fans go all out at us and says nothing. If he stepped up I'd shut up. He is not strong enought to say anything. He might lose some Vermont fans if he tried to help us.
Fearless
(18,421 posts)Hillary IGNORED YOU. She had BLM protesters arrested! Bernie let them speak. She condescended to them. Bernie listened to them, installed a campaign manager who is a POC, he reached out to groups and spoke directly to POC of the plans he has and how they would help him.
She continues to promote programs that HURT YOU.
Vermonters are NOT racists.
In summary...
HILLARY HURTS YOU.
Please just understand that.

(34,648 posts)I bury you, my grudges
deep inside
The coal black cavern that is my heart
Light no fire within my lonely vessel
For there sits a candle,
flame burning low.
The flicker felt,
shadows dancing,
Catching on remnants of pain and passion
Derision and laughter
Stay apart, oh grudges, rest, rest.
Time forgot you, oh!
The fields of my heart left fallow.
I bury you there, my grudges
Deep, oh, so deep!
That you may be born again
From the extant loam of life
That bears the acid sting of remembrance
Hide, my grudges, dont tarry,
Grow behind my smile and laughter
The eye twinkle,
A gentle friendly seed
Patient ,patient, my grudges, lo!
Your dawn rides in
High on the wings of memory
To deracinate forgiveness
And steal revenge

(34,648 posts)His supporters. That is why. When they stop being nasty and start checking each other instead of all checking me one by one, I'll stop. They have learned NOTHING. Nothing. Helping Bernie lose the black vote, one day at a time. Pisses me off. He could have done something if only they had been smart enough to realize that they do not know everything just because they read a bunch of books.
I crack up watching them make nasty comments and kamikaze me like this is ww2. One at a time, mean, rude, nasty, then all of a sudden they are dissappointed at ME! They never see one damn thing wrong with themselves.

(20,582 posts)Our chamber of commerce' in various cities and big banks up here paid Ms. Clinton hundreds of thousands/millions? to school us uneducated Canucks on, in part, the 'terror!' dilemma. It's not like Canadians hadn't fought and been lost in Afghanistan or anything, or committed suicide since, .... or that we haven't had the same access to info on the horror in the ME and NA since the invasion of Iraq as anyone else in the world.
Bernie probably wouldn't have gotten that same support (from the Chamber of Commerce' and Big Banks).

(7,865 posts)I am serious. I had thought we had a decent conversation a few weeks ago, but it seems like you will say anything to smear Bernie. It doesn't matter if it is factual or based on anything reasonable. You just seem willing to say it.
bravenak
(34,648 posts)I might give a damn. The same people who love to tell me about myself, sit and ignore their peers following me and calling me every name in the book. You do know that Bernie has problems with the black vote? (This is why his crowds look the way they do)
If you think I will stop saying things while being followed and harassed and talked crazy to, you have another thing coming. This is merely a response to negative stimuli. Go correct your peers. All of your peers seems to spend all their du time 'correcting' me, one by one, sniping and race carding and being nasty as possible. But MY POST IS THE ONE YOU NOTICE? WTF???
Dawgs
(14,755 posts)And you're the last person that should be blaming others for being nasty and calling others names.

(7,865 posts)I have no idea what anyones race is here.
In real life I know activists of all colors and creeds that are supporting various candidates. In the Twin Cities Bernie is doing rather well with people of all ethnicities. And these are real life people, not internet people.

(7,865 posts)I had a hide once or twice and it taught me to craft my arguments more carefully and to maybe not kick in the damned message board with a verbal flamethrower. When I get a hide I step back and think more carefully about what I write and I start thinking more judiciously.
Other people here get a hide and they decide to rachet up their language for some reason. I don't get it.
All I see is van Gogh.
I cannot factor in a poster's race unless they insert it into every paragraph somehow. I only have their words and their arguments. That is it.
bravenak

(7,865 posts)I guess you just must be coincidentally posting negative things about Bernie 24-7. Obviously I missed all the decent things you have said about him. My mistake.
For me, doing political activism in the real world makes a big difference. Just hanging out here argung with internet people is dehumanizing and allows people to too easily carve themselves deeper and deeper niches that they cannot or willnot see out of.

(16,286 posts)and both were almost completely ignored.
Two reasons:
1. anything I post, someone who supports all Democratic candidates, is ignored no matter what unless it can be used against me
2. just a whole lotta talk around here and little else
That isn't a good sampling.
Most threads that aren't completely about the primary are sinking right now. That isn't an indictment of people chasing you around. It is an indictment of the way people are so fixated on the presidential election.

(16,286 posts)and following up with them and getting them to the polls, the Dem party would be that much better positioned to win.
But this is NOT the agenda of everyone here.
It is my agenda, to promote the party, but not many.
Now, I dont much like the Democratic Party anymore because it is FAR too NOT liberal for me, but given the alternative, well, you know.
Again, work 24/7 to change the system and take 5 minutes out (8 hours if you are Black) and vote on election day for the least objectionable so there is still something left to change.

Sanders $174,000 salary as a member of the Senate was not listed on the form. The couples real estate assets are not disclosed, either. According to campaign spokesman Michael Briggs, the senator owns at least two homes, one in Vermont and one on Capitol Hill.
