'New Democrats' sound alarm over Sanders and Clinton's leftward march (It's exciting!)

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/nov/08/new-democrats-sound-alarm-over-sanders-clinton-leftward-march

Observers on both sides of the party’s divide suggest presidential primary debate confirms a resurgence of more populist economic policies

“People rightly believe that corporations and the powerful have stacked the deck in their favour and against everybody else.”

Activists point to near-universal rejection among Democrats of Barack Obama’s free trade agreement, a lasting revolt against his plans to cut social security and radical promises to curb student debt as signs that the Democratic mainstream has outstripped a progressive president who once seemed too radical for his party.

It's just a bunch of Dixiecrats in a congressional caucus.

Where's the surprise?

their failure to control the masses. Anyone who is or has been in B to B sales or service, will understand this statement. The larger the dollar value of a firm, the more disconnected and acrimonious, their management becomes. Call it the Rose Colored Glasses Syndrome. For the most part, they believe their own ignorance to what reality is was or what. If your want to know what is really going on in a major company, ask the janitor or the folks in the mail room. If you only knew!

Many angry and discouraged people don't understand just how profound are the changes they themselves represent.

"But despite PPI’s Columbia summit and a burst of recent policy papers from another centrist group, Third Way, the influence of the New Democrat Coalition and a similar grouping of moderate southern Democrats known as the Blue Dogs is widely seen as in terminal decline."

"All three moderates who spoke to the Guardian ahead of the South Carolina forum acknowledge that the US has changed dramatically since the 1990s, when the New Democrat movement was born as an answer to three heavy defeats by Republicans under Ronald Reagan and George HW Bush."

It really is time to be hopeful again. To say, "Yes, we can!" once again and build on what we've already started.
