I've been doing this for several years, and have been told my interpretations are fairly accurate. Take it or leave it.

* I can categorically say that, while not malicious, Hillary is a natural liar - and in fact enjoys cajoling the public with whoppers if she knows there are some in the crowd that are "in the know" and therefore in on the joke. Approval is very important to her; but especially when it comes from the insiders, the ones in on the joke.

* But malice is, again, not the motivation, and she does not want to see anyone hurt. Besides the approval, she does it because what she's seen has made her very jaded about the world. A part of her, in fact, wishes she could do more - but knows she can't. She privately feels like a rider in the storm.

* She admired her father for his astuteness and quick wit, and he most likely often shared his sharp observations of others with her. She also feared him a little, and learned not to cross him. Her mother was more of an enigma to her, although she was a good wife and mom in the "Republican" sense (she kept a good home, and suffered in silence).

* Now, her husband. While she does see him as a little gullible, I can't overstate the admiration she has for him - for his sociability, kind nature, charisma, and sheer joie de vivre. To her, he's Old King Cole, the merry old soul.
