Given Jeb Bush's Comments Today - Do You Think The Repugs Are Knowingly Throwing This Election?....

See the following link: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10021203896

Do you think that they are letting the voters purge the TeaPartiers from their ranks - so that in 2016 they can come back to somewhat of a traditional style Repug party?

Bush insisted, however, that the problems with the Republican Party would not impact this year’s election. I don't think he's telling the truth on this. Their problems will impact - big time - on this year's election.

If they lose - they get Rmoney and his money out of the picture along with the TPer's and then they can re-invent themselves as a saner party. What do you think?

They are "instinctively" throwing this election.

Don't make the mistake of anthropomorphizing the Republicans. They are reptilian and cannot change.

The Republicans are not deliberately throwing a presidential election. Where do people get these ideas?

If enough people think that way, they might further feel their vote isn't needed. Why bother....

They are not trying to lose, and there's a definite risk that they'll win. I think what we're seeing is a struggle for control, within their party. Danged if I recall the source, but within the past few days I read an article linked in one of the threads here, which suggested that those who have financed the astroturf teabag movement are trying to solidify their control of the Repug party during this election cycle. It was speculated that these parties care less about winning this time around than gaining complete control of one of our two political parties. From that perspective, the old power base among the Repugs would be worried about the situation. That may or may not be what's going on, but it makes the most sense to me currently, based on the limited evidence I've seen.

At any rate, they are trying to win and we can't count on anything being easy in the coming weeks and months.

pouring money into this election cycle on purpose in order to have control over an even more extreme right-wing party going into 2016.

So in effect they are "throwing" the election, but not in favor of the old style traditional Republican party returning. They want to solidify the right-wing extremity, and Romney is irrelevant to them.

They simply can't win in 2020 or possibly even 2016 if they don't stop alienating minorities and women.

.....does give me some pause. Ginsberg is playing hard-knuckle again, forcing Mitt's rules on the party. Keep your eye peeled.
