2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumMitt Romney. Born at Harper Hospital, Detroit. Had a birther moment today in Commerce Township.
At an orchard I have picked apples at years past. I damned sure won't ever be a customer again.
And, let's not forget the campus of the Cranbrook Academy halfway between those two places, in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where he beat the crap out of a gay student in 1965.
Just knowing this asshole prowled the same streets I know from my daily life makes me want to throw up. Smug and disgusting is what he is.

(23,720 posts)back then it was nothing but dirt roads, woods, farms and lake cottages. In the late 80's and early 90's land was bought up by developers and the more affluent boomers and their offspring bought up the cookie cutter mcmansions that were built so they could play golf without leaving home.
I clean houses out there in the Beacon Hill subdivision. One lady in her early thirties recently bought a lake cottage out in Davisburg and ask if we would be interested in cleaning it for her. all the while she was bemoaning how she was going to be able to afford it. It wasn't too long ago she was telling me that she might have to cut back on her cleaning services because she wasn't putting enough away for her kids college. Now I have two of her houses to keep clean. These people are up to their eyeballs in debt, yet believe that they are or are going to be Mitt Rmoney's peers one day.
They are wannabees. They are compelled to keep up with their neighbors. If Jen D buys a beach house, then Jen W needs to get one too. Which is exactly what happened. Jen and Jen are friends.

(6,581 posts)Or Commerce and Commerce and Commerce, or Union Lake and Commerce. But he sure did at Woodward and Long Lake.
And it's all just crap, I'm having a really bad day in a bad week in a bad month, and I just didn't need to see that most undynamic duo spewing their poison at a place I love. Well, loved, past tense. I won't be back.

(23,720 posts)that is why he was there. Apparently these people charge 7-8 dollars to enter the property and very few people that work there speak English. I've never been there, I've only driven by. We go to Spicers orchard in the fall and then there is one out in Romeo we take the kids to. Paint Creek and Yates are both cider mills we go to. None of them charge admission.
