As pressure increases for 2016 presidential contender Hillary Clinton to say where she stands on the pending Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal, her ties to avid TPP supporters wont escape notice.
One glaring example: A linked trifecta consisting of the TPP, the mega-investment firm Morgan Stanley, and the Clinton family that involves campaign contributions, former members of Bill Clintons administration and large donations to the Clintons foundation.

Morgan Stanley has also been a generous supporter of the Clintons foundation work.
In September 2014, Morgan Stanley announced that it, along with the Local Initiatives Support Corp. (LISC) and CDC Small Business Finance, had made a $25 million Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Commitment to Action for an expansion of the Job Creation and Community Revitalization Fund.
That same year, according to disclosures from the Clinton Foundation, the firm donated between $100,001-$250,000 to the organization. The Clinton Foundation has also received between $250,001-$500,000 in donations from the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Global Impact Funding Trust....

This is just a small glimpse into the entanglements between Hillary Clinton, the too big to fail banks, and many multi national corporations who stand to make heavy profits from the TPP trade deal. Yes. Everything is legal on it's face. Still it smacks of an appearance of a culture that exists in politics where the relationship between politicians and their corporate donors is much too cozy.
America should move to make sure these kinds of entanglements and appearances of potential conflicts of interest are no longer legal. Our government should represent the American people. Not wealthy corporations with an army of lobbyists.
Tom Nides and Robert Hormats, once of Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, are veterans of the revolving door between Washington and the financial sector
The Wall Street ties of two top aides to Hillary Clinton at the State Department are raising concerns among progressives about the composition of a future Clinton White House.
The former aides, Tom Nides and Robert Hormats, have shuttled between government and Wall Street for years. Nides, who is frequently described as a Clinton confidant, is a longtime Morgan Stanley executive who served as deputy secretary of state for management and resources from 2011 to 2013 before returning to Morgan Stanley. Nides is also the former chairman of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (Sifma), the main lobbying group for Wall Street in Washington DC.
