I am supporting Bernie Sanders for President

This was a tough decision for me.

Despite the enthusiasm of his supporters, he is going to have a hard time getting to the general election, much less winning it. Hillary Clinton is a formidable opponent, experienced in tough primary races. She's been under continuous attack since emerging on the national scene, and yet despite the barrage - Whitewatergate, emailgate, Benghazigate, etc - she continues to lead while gaining the endorsements of key party movers and shakers.

If he does manage to get past Sec. Clinton, he may be facing The Donald. This may seem like no big deal to some, but The Donald is by far the strongest possible G.E. candidate. T.D. taps much of the rebellious anti-both-parties sentiment that Sen Sanders does. And he does it in a way that can prey on their fears, as opposed to feeding positive hopes.

Sen. Sanders faces questions about his age. And reality check...even if socialism is not a dirty word to you and your friends, it is to many other people.

Once he gets in, he will face a lot of obstruction from both sides of the aisle. To get anything at all done, he will have to make compromises that will get him thrown under the bus by many of his strongest supporters. I can see the "corporatist in sheep's clothing" already.

Despite all this, however, I support Sen. Sanders as the most honest, admirable, and caring person in this race. I believe that he is neither a warmonger nor a pacifist. I am convinced that he would avoid reckless encounters, and would give our forces the support they need to successfully complete their missions.

I hope Sen. Sanders CAN pull it off. Secretary Clinton does not inspire me, and everyone in the GOP scares me.

Sanders 2016.
