Back then we had so much hope.

I mean I will vote for President Obama and probably volunteer some. But, my sense of hope for the future isn't what it was 4 years ago.

3. I've clearly identified the source of my lack of hope.

Little did I understand in 2008 just how shockingly nasty, vindictive, and obstructive Republicans would be for the next 4 years. Any failures of Obama to curb Wall Street, produce jobs, improve the health care system can all be laid at the feet of the Republicans in Congress. If (dare I say when) Obama is re-elected and if Republicans still hold the majority in the House or if they hold the majority in the Senate, or horrors of horrors, both houses, we can expect nothing but the same. They determined the minute the election was called in favor of Mr. Obama that they would see to it that the first Black President was seen as a failure.
