Honestly, I think the GOP wants to lose this cycle and are really preparing for 2016

as they think we have no one to run.

Newt
Mitt
Frothy
Paul

that's the best they have? I think not. They are putting on a show and will break out the big guns in 2016

..... the HCR mandates...... is the one issue he shares with the one GOP candidate the Republican elites are hell bent on nominating..... Romney.

That seems like a deliberate losing strategy to me.

And anybody who thinks Jeb Bush is gonna ride in and save the day is deluded.
He's saving it up for '16.

I would LOVE to see a Dem president from now until the day my grandkids die and since my daughter is not yet married with no thoughts of children for a long time, that is an eternity.

Seriously, I could not handle another time period like we had to endure with GW Dumbass

7. I think their followers are so right-wing loon crazy that they will keep losing

most of America does NOT want a far right wacko as president. the only way they might win is if people who originally voted for Obama feel disappointed enough not to vote in 2012. As far as 2016 - too soon to tell. Pretty much anyone who isn't a republican thinks republicans are crazy these days so I don't think they'll do well in 2016 either. heheh.

They KNOW it will take a dedicated Dem to continue fixing it up before they ruin it again.

They don't want the blame for Bushitler's rotten mess.

10. It's similar to 1996...

The big names decided to skip the '96 Republican primaries and decided instead to focus on 2000. George W. Bush was thought be a contender in '96, but opted to run four years later, as did John McCain.

Romney is Bob Dole 2.0.

11. Whom are they prepping for 2016 though?

Which "heavy hitters" are they saving for us? Mitch Daniels? Chris Christie? Jeb Bush? Jon Huntsman? :shrug
Who are the "rising stars" in the GOP? Who's being groomed for potentially becoming POTUS? Where is the party going? Unless they dump the Tea Party wing and move back to a more sensible, rational position, I see no future for them with diminishing returns at all levels of government. I don't like to write political obituaries but, unless they can crack into more diverse demographics, I don't see much of a future for the Republican Party. They may have a strong corporate-backed propaganda arm between cable news networks, especially Fox, as well as hate radio that may help them remain competitive in Congressional and local races but those old cranks aren't going to be around forever either.

If we keep our eye on the ball and can keep Democrats in power for a few years, we might finally be able to turn back the tide on right-wing ideology and all of the money in the world isn't going to matter.

13. I think Sammy #heblowsalot Brownback
Wed Feb 1, 2012, 10:29 PM
Feb 2012

I think he has a deep hatred for Obama but was too much of a coward to run this cycle.

He has wanted to "one-up" Obama since the Saddleback church incident when Brownback told Obama welcome to my house and Obama said it is my house and it is everyone's house

yea old Sammy is gonna run after he fucks up Kansas even more

But Huntsman would honestly be their best chance. The problem is he's too centrist. The Republicans want a foam at the mouth, fangs hanging out, wackjob, nutcase, hardcore conservative. They are going to be very disappointed with Romney when he has to try to swing back toward the center in the GE and he alienates his base.

Even with all the bluster, no "serious" candidate thought Obama was likely to lose, so they took a pass until the open seat in 2016.

I think they have been so outrageous for so long and getting away with it that they still thought they could do anything. The GOP base is so misinformed and gullible to Fox and pigboy that we could provide a video of their candidate fucking small animals and they'd forgive and vote for him/her anyway.

It's been pretty exhasperating since the 2000 Presidential Selection by the corrupt USSC
