A little mid-week humor
Romney is not the only Republican going bold this political season. Fox News has decided to clean house and bring some fresh energy in the run up to the Presidential Election. In a move that the lame-street-media is calling BOLD, they have decided to replace aging Tea Party superstar Sarah Palin with Quark, from Star Trek Deep Space Nine fame.
We feel Quark will really be able to excite our base. His dedication to pure greed is something many of our viewers can relate to. said a Fox representative. In response to a question about whether it will be a problem that Quark is a fictional character, he said, We have the up most confidence that our viewers will be able to make the distinction. However many experts disagree. FoxNews scrapes the bottom of the intellectual barrel. There is a very good chance that millions will accept Quark as a real person just like they did with Sarah Palin. said a leading media consultant.

(24,437 posts)I'm watching through DS9 with my wife right now and Quark, for all of his greed and faults, still had somewhat of a conscience and often ended up doing the "right" thing even when his money, life, etc. was on the line. In some ways, I would actually consider him to be morally superior to Sarah Palin and most Republicans.

(187 posts)I just finished the series a few weeks ago. At first, his character was pretty awful, but like you said, they wrote in the human elements. I certainly hope I didn't make a bunch of DS9 fans too mad

A guy who sold his body to an alien symbiote in exchange for power? How is that not the essence of all things Republican?

Q, the Enterprise-D's consistent omnipotent annoyance, comes to harass the DS9 crew when his traveling companion, Vash, refuses to travel with Q any longer.

DS9 is my fav of all ST's. Odo & Quark make a great team & characters in general kick ass.

(47,675 posts)That was the one where Q became a crew member with no special powers and did something un-Q like (as in kind) so he got his power back. Was the other one Vash or somebody different?

Brown hair, nice eyes & a real conniving scoflaw. The rule of law was meaningless to her.
2 eps. on st:tng 1st one, where we meet her: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0708684/
2nd ep Q-PID is where Picard & co were put into Robin Hood World http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0708759/
3rd & final ST was DS9 Q-less ep.
Vash was played by Jennifer Hetrick, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0381763/
I remember the ep u are referring to, Enterprise would be destroyed or many would die, unless aliens got revenge om Q.
The other guy, I believe was, another being from the "q continum", not Vash.
edit beg: oK THE EP U R refering to was Déjà Q and the guy was called credited as "Q2" played by Corbin Bernsen.
