Shelli Yoder for Congress!

In Indiana, first time candidate, Dem. Shelli Yoder is going up against Todd Young who unseated Baron Hill a couple years ago.
Todd Young is very big on Paul Ryan and the rest and he has a massive war chest of nearly a million dollars. Yoder had about fifty
grand last time I checked.

This race is always a close one tipping back and forth between the Dems and Repubs the past few elections. This year, Yoder
has a good shot if she can mobilize the Dems and in particular WOMEN voters.

Consider donating if you can. We need Shelli in Congress. Here's a link to the blog with a spot to donate.

I don't want to seem to be raining on every Democratic candidate who gets a post here, but with the number of races in play, focusing on the outliers with two and a half months to go is bad politics. Brendan Mullen (IN-2) and Dave Crooks (IN-8) are competitive; Shellie is not.

And, Hillary kicked a$$ in Floyd and Clark Counties in '07. The women could make a dif and this is MY district.
I want to help win it back.

Cook, Rothenberg and Sabato all rate this as "Solid-R".

Again, not saying a local shouldn't get involved, but on a national level, there are other races that are more winnable that also need help.

I don't know whether to slit my wrists or to set my hair on fire. Please help me decide which.

On second thought, I think I will send a contribution to Shelli Yoder.

But, thank you for your concern anyway.

(as far as I know) LOL. The link is to my local blog. I try an promote Dem candidates locally and regionally. Shelli is working hard for this. I was in my office late and the phone rang. It was Ms. Yoder trying to rouse the troops. I was impressed with her conversation and I would like to do what I can.

and a lot of Mennonite Yoders too. Some of the best Democrats I know are Mennonites from her area.

That is if you are not pulling my leg. In any case, I hope that the rest of Southern Indiana will vote for her too.

Meanwhile, If we have the horse and buggy vote wrapped up....well...great!

liberal Mennonites OTOH are strong voters, civicly connected, and politically active. I know many who are Democratic for strong social reasons over the type of religious bastardization which has evolved among the 'religious right'. I am very connected to the Mennonite community, though I am not a member. Some are certainly right of center, many are not. They are overwhelmingly good people.
