I'm just countering the 850 threads posted by the Bernie gang.
I guess it's who claps the loudest.

The people on DU who are not Bernie fans are merely a minority. And as Bernie becomes better known in the US, so will it be in the US.

Help me understand how this analogy makes even the slightest kind of sense.
I mean, this is the kind of hyperbole that is usually not evidenced in rational arguments.

(6,409 posts)She's the designated winner. The pundits agree she won. The political regulars agree she won. Who else is there? Oh, the voters? Nah! They don't count. They can easily be scared away from Sanders and back into Clinton's arms.
trumad
(41,692 posts)What's the difference?
HassleCat
(6,409 posts)I guess we're all pundits because we all express opinions, make predictions, etc. The people who get paid to be on TV and offer their analysis seem to think Clinton won the debate.
trumad
(41,692 posts)HassleCat
(6,409 posts)I don't know how they choose the participants, but the focus groups did not seem to think Clinton won, although they didn't seem to think Sanders won, either. I kind of agree with the Slate Magazine analysis, that Clinton won because all she had to do was avoid losing her temper, and she did much better than that. All she had to do was prove there was no obvious reason she could not be the front runner, and she did that, so she "won" in that sense. And I think she "won" by convincing doubtful Democratic primary voters they are safe in supporting her. Sanders probably "won" in terms of convincing independents and moderate Republicans, and attracting Democrats who were not familiar with him, but that doesn't help him much in the primary.

REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
This is just an unnecessary personal attack. And not the first one from this poster against the OP today
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Wed Oct 14, 2015, 08:48 PM, and the Jury voted 1-6 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: The OP posted by definition disruptive meta with the intention of getting people to "Ignore the Bernie gang on DU." This OP should have been locked or moved, but as it continues to stand here, I see no harm in calling a post for what it is; disruptive, trolling meta. Also known as "Shit-stirring."
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Truth defense. Trumad clearly IS shit-stirring with this thread.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Ugh! Dumb alert. Please relax people.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Oh Please......
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: This poster seems to take great joy in attacking rather than discussing.

(9,289 posts)And voters knew that she would fight Wall Street on behalf of the 99% when she said that as a Senator she had gone to Wall Street and told them to cut it out. And I loved the fact that she conveniently misremembered what she had said about the TPP being the gold standard. And her claim that Snowden could have educated the public about unconstitutional surveillance and received whistleblower protections had he played ball was so believable. And don't get me started on legalization of Marijuana. Her firm resolve to wait and see was impressive.

I thought Hillary did a great job. She was much better than I had seen her before, she really did well.
I thought O'Malley did too.
Chafee, well he is done now right?
Webb, scary dude. Bright, yes. He has done some good things but scary dude.
For me it was Bernie but it would take a lot for me to say otherwise. He may or may not have debated the best, I can't judge that since I do not know thing 1 about actual debating but he said what I wanted and needed to hear.
Of course there are going to be thousands of Bernie posts here, it is just how it shook out this time. I find it as uncomfortable being in the big group as I did being in the tiny group all those elections with Kucinich. I wish it was not like this.
Anyway, she did great. If she is saying what you want and need to hear then good and hooray for you. For me, I can't take all this DU crap much longer and that is from the big group advantage. Oh well.
